Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The breakfast was very basic and there was no drinking water in the rooms. The overflow drain for the bath tub is too low.
The lobby decor is quite nice and the jazz music is a good touch. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice. The reception and cleaning staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Couple issues that are not a problem unless you are an NFL linebacker like myself. The bathrooms are beautifully designed, but, very tight if you are above 6’ and 250lbs. Shower is inviting, but a little undersized. Obviously the hotel architecture is dated and wonderful so I understand the limitations of space, so I take that into account. The other issue is that the beds are not plush by any means. They could use an upgrade to their mattresses. I’m not a picky person but if you going to spend 4-500 dollars a night I do expect comfortable beds. I would give the property an 8 out of 10 even with the small issues that I had.
The staff was excellent from the car valet to the front desk. The property was extremely clean and wonderfully decorated. The hotel bar was accessible and very inviting. The location is perfect for excellent restaurants and close to Bryant park and broadway. Perfect spot!

Not sure who charged me twice for breakfast for 2 days when I never did. I was supposed to have a credit for $35 and I used it the last day myself. Grateful the lady mentioned this before and took it out of my bill. Not sure if it was the weather but sometimes the tv channels were not working

It was very pricey but considering it was a holiday it makes sense!

Thermostat was broken and couldn’t be adjusted. Facilities staff came by but couldn’t do anything about it.
Staff was very helpful, got us early checkin and we didn’t use it but also requested and got late checkout.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel! The staff was wonderfully attentive and thoughtful, the rooms were clean and efficient, and the bed was so comfortable (I spelt great)! Great location, too! Very comfortable, great shower, especially coming in after a late fun night. Very relaxing and private.

Not a big deal but my friend brought me coffee and left it outside my door. By the time I got to it it had been removed. Lids on the coffee cups and heat sleeve’s would be appreciated.
The door man and front desk staff were fantastic. The room was great. I like led everything about it.

Breakfast buffet was very disappointing. Limited selection. Would have preferred to have been able to order breakfast. Buffet was akin to that offered at budget motels. We went out to eat to get a decent meal.This buffet was far below what I expected from a Marriott property. In-room clock radio was good for phone charging if you have an iPhone. Not Adroid friendly at all.
Hotel is in a good East Side location, Nice lobby and very courteous staff. Easy to get a taxi/Uber.

It takes long time to check in an out. There is no check in machine. Not enough staff to take care. Very long queue and never moving queue.

For the price of the rooms, I would think that having a person there to make omelets for guests at breakfast is warranted.
It was okay. Our room was very small and the bathroom was microscopic. (Room 2612)
