Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaWe were upgraded to a city view which was great. Room was large but bathroom was very small (which we were warned about). Hard to get ready with the tiny low sink and shower was tight.
Location is perfect - so centrally located. Although it is an old historic hotel, everything is fresh and clean.

United States of AmericaI don't think the property should charge to hold a paying guest's luggage. I would suggest the restaurant / lounge stay open longer. We had difficulty getting enough towels and toiletries. We had to ask multiple times. As often happens in an older facility, there weren't enough receptacles. This was a double room and each bed should have had a receptacle.
The location was great. Very close to the action without being right in the thick of it. The bed was comfortable. Decor was nice inside. The outside was lovely. The doorman was very classy and helpful. The room was clean.

United States of AmericaCleaning staff was of a lower standard than on our previous visits. We found a chocolate chip cookie on our floor that stayed there for a few days before we threw it away (it was from a previous visitor). We requested 4 towels per day in our housekeeping notes but only received 3 on all but one of the days.
The room was exceptionally quiet for NYC. The beds were comfortable. The location is perfect.

United States of AmericaWell, it's NYC, so I always feel like I'm paying more for what I'm getting in return. For the price, breakfast should be included, or they could at least give some credit dollars to use at their restaurant. The shower should be replaced. I can tell they tried to fix it, and now it's placed in a weird position too close to the glass door. They gave me a "city view," but it was partial. For the first time, I had to pay to have them secure my bags after the checkout. I paid $2 per bag, and they only accept bills.
Excellent location, quick and easy check-in and check-out, great room size considering it's NYC and the rooms are usually tiny, comfortable bed and kind personnel. Very classic, the hotel was built in 1925 and hosted many celebrities, some of whom lived there for some time.

United States of AmericaDidn't like being the room opposite the elevator bank.
First & foremost, the pricing was reasonable, given it was "off peak".....middle of winter. Thick walls/doors helped with sound proofing. Loved the coziness of the hotel, which I could see people staying here for longer terms due to its central location to businesses. Loved the proximity to so much: Radio City, restaurants, Central Park, 5th Ave, Rockefeller Center, Theater District, MOMA.

BelgiumMy room has no view and had a window at the back so it was kind of dark. Maybe because we asked for a room with 2 single beds. But I would have liked a more outward facing room. Also more breakfast options would be nice. I think the quality and look of the breakfast could be improved. Also I didn’t like the fact that you have to pay extra to keep your luggage when checking out. 2 dollars is not much but it’s not a nice look.
Location cannot get any better! So central
