Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaBoth hot tubs need some TLC and the one that was covered (intentionally) in sand on the bottom seemed unsanitary. I appreciate the need for an adult only section, but there was no hot tub that teens could go into which would be greatly appreciated as the pools were very cold. Most staff were really great, but a few were a bit surly. A little more variety in the food options would be great for people staying more than a few days.
Fantastic location and view. It's a bit dated, but mostly well maintained. It had great amenities - everything we needed - and was perfect for both teens and adults.

United States of AmericaI think they should have a restaurant that had breakfast buffet. Ulu restaurant is a little overpriced. We did have breakfast there twice and dinner once.
We loved our room. It had a beautiful view of the ocean and pools. We could see whales from our balcony.

SwitzerlandThe constant music at the bar 18 or so hours a day was really annoying. Being so close to the beach it would be nice to be able to leave the windows open and listen to the sea but we simply couldn’t and that’s a real shame.
The location is absolutely fabulous, we could see whales from our balcony, it was fantastic. Right next to the Whaler’s village too which is lovely.

United States of AmericaI did think the room was a smidgen too small but it did not negatively effect my trip in the slightest. My fiancé thought the room could have had better soundproofing because you could hear noises in the hallways easily. The shower in the bathroom was modern and great to use but is loud and might wake people up. Parking was $45 a day for self parking but at least the parking garage was very close and easy to get to quickly.
I recently stayed at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa for five nights and had an excellent time with my fiancé. The resort is packed with fun and entertaining amenities, convenient restaurants and bars, and a very cool pool area with waterslide. If you are staying in this area of Maui mostly to go to the beach or sit by the pool then you will not be disappointed with the Westin. The location is right on Ka’anapali Beach so you can step directly on the sand. For the price, which is very expensive, I was extremely happy with the beachfront views and interesting pathways and sights. I was happy with the King bedroom I reserved and even though I did not have an ocean view I really enjoyed the garden view that overlooked the nearby golf course and had the mountains in the background. The room was very clean and the bed and bath areas were great. I really liked the bedding and mattress. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food that we ordered from the Hale Moʻolelo was pretty good both the takeout and dine in. We appreciated that the Hale Mo’olelo was open late. There is often live music and we were very impressed with one of the singers during our dinner meal. I did not get a chance to try the fancier restaurant or their market & eatery. I got drinks from the poolside bar and the Hale Mo’olelo and they were always made great tasting and strong with booze. One of the best parts was the lobby of the resort which had a gigantic coy fish pond with lots of real flamingos just hanging out. There is also three larges cages with parrots and cockatoos for the guests to enjoy viewing. The resort has little events going on all the time. My fiancé was able to have a parrot walk on her head from the animal trainer and often employees would be handing out freshly cut fruit. The Westin has a sidewalk the follows the length of the beach past other resorts and is a fantastic walk to start the morning. There is also a shopping mall directly next door in walking...

United States of AmericaThe room was not upto my expectation. For the amount spent I was expecting it to be much luxurious. That was a disappointment actually.
The amenities were awesome, the pools, the hot tub, the cabanas, the restaurant, the birds and the vegetation around were all top notch.

United States of AmericaMade the mistake of asking for a King size bed. Ended up with a view of the dumpster. The beaches were small and a little crowded. 2 of The 3 times we asked the desk for help, the person was a bit surly, as though we were bothering them.
The resort itself was beautiful. Lovely water features, landscaping, birds and Koi fish. The restaurant was great. Yummy dishes and no waiting most of the time. Poolside service was great.

CanadaSome front desk staff were quite dismissive of other than elite guests and not very welcoming. Which was really disappointing when we arrived at the resort excited about our stay. One of the valets broke a wheel on our luggage and bent the license plate on our rental in half. The pool and concierge staff, were however excellent.

United States of Americathe size of my room and the beds. thought it would be slightly bigger for the price. Even when we considered upgrading to the next size room, the next size offered less storage for clothes. so we stuck with our smaller room because it had more clothes storage.
The location was excellent. The restaurants, proximity to the beach, Whalers Village. Also the grounds were excellent, the many pools, landscaping
