Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.

Wasn't horrible but we will probably try another place next time. Our room had an odd dark little foyer you walked into that had a chair, table and fridge. Like they just threw extra stuff in there to fill it up. Mostly, walking into a dark musky room is a real downer for me. The smell dissipated but that is what greeted us.
We've used this spot because its a good price for a clean place...but It feels like its becoming an older property. Staff was nice, other than a slight musky smell that went away, the room was otherwise clean, and next to our room was a little jetted pool room with a sauna which I did use and was relaxing so that was nice.

the opening description of this property on Booking.com states that it offers free transport to and from SFO airport. This is no longer the case and should be changed.

Like many businesses booting back up after the pandemic, Villa Montes is slowly rebuilding some of the amenities it used to have in the past, but the staff was very understanding and went extra lengths to make sure guests were connected with whatever it is that they needed.
The hotel itself was beautiful and full of charm at a great price, and in a very convenient location for any sort of transportation. The staff was also kind, considerate, and helpful!

Dark. No lights over coffee area. Dark hallways. No regular shuttle. Hotel had taxi which had to be prebooked. Taxi had bullet holes in it.

All staff were courteous and helpful with directions for places I needed to get to. The shuttle service to and from the airport and train station was a plus

I would have enjoyed better restaurant choices in the area around the hotel.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and very nicely appointed. The excercise equipment in the fitness room, although limited was in excellent working condition. The shuttle to the airport was easy to arrange. The coffee was replenished daily, a feature that often is not true in many hotels.

We were disappointed that the cafe was not open. This would have made things a little more convenient. And we were sad that the pool wasn't open.
The decor of the entire hotel was very cool.

They continue to 'require' masks even though there is no actual requirement. This is such a nuisance when unless you riding a bus they are not required because they don't 'prevent the spread'. An otherwise happy property.

No bottle opener in room, small dissapointment.
Location is great within walking distance to many small local restaurants. The staff was very friendly and arranged an early morning taxi to the airport which is close by. Comfortable bed and easy to use bathroom. I would stay again.

Free breakfast that doesnt exist, same with laundry service
Love my stay here, the only reason I gave it a 9 vs 10 is because they still advertise the free breakfast even if it’s not served because of the pandemic.

Sheets were old and had tears in them. Housekeeper should not have used them.
Easy access , very clean, friendly and helpful desk staff at check in. Fridge , microwave and Keurig coffee maker available in room .

While covid restricts serving breakfast the hotel should find other ways. Even a voucher for an egg McMuffinwould have been nice. Or the IHOP across the street could deliver.
Chris at the front desk was extra courteous and helpful. Hotel room was very comfortable.
