Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI love this property so much & it’s my second visit in 5 months. This time during the snow & the charm of the place comes out even more in the winter. Fireplaces in the bedrooms to the warmth & fun & great food in the tavern with a group of friends.

United States of AmericaI really have nothing negative to say about the wildcat inn and tavern. It was a great place to stay.We went for a walk around town both nights we stayed and enjoyed our stay from start to finish.
We liked having the restaurant and pub with entertainment all in the same building.

United States of AmericaSo clean and comfortable. Absolutely amazing property, wish I could go back tomorrow! Perfect for our group of two families with young kids. So easy (walked!) to get to XC Touring Center and trails. Will definitely stay here again. Exceptional spot. Loved it.

United States of AmericaBar and pub were closed during our stay due to private event and short staff. A two night minimum stay was required even though the facility was not booked to capacity and services weren’t available to guests.
No breakfast provided. I liked the location, the charm, and accommodations.

United States of AmericaSome times it’s hard to find the staff during off hours. It would be helpful if they left a sign at the check in desk to ring a bell or call them. I wanted to buy some merchandise but no one was available It would be nice if they had some simple breakfast options such as pastries or cereal.
This was a return trip to the Wildcat. We come back often as we love the vibe both of the Inn and the Tavern Staff are friendly and service is good. You feel like a local at the Tavern as everyone is friendly. The rooms are clean and comfy especially with the gas stove.

United States of AmericaPrimarily it was the check in experience. After a rough drive through a snow squall, we arrived to find the front door locked. I noticed a back door so walked around to find that door open. Unfortunately there was no one in the office and initially no one responded when we loudly yelled "hello, anyone here!". The number provided went to voice mail. Soon another guest did come out and was very helpful in giving us a direct number he happened to know of the owner. Again, voice mail, but a woman did call me back within a few minutes and explained that our check-in sheet was hanging on the wall and keys were in the rooms. Also, it was unfortunate that the Tavern was closed both days we were there because we had planned on eating dinner, having drinks and also eating breakfast there.
It's a classic New England Inn with rustic furnishings and feel. The bed, bathroom and room in general was comfortable. Also, the location was ideal for our plan to Nordic ski.

CanadaHot water takes a very long time to reach the upper rooms. During dinner, hot water is sometimes not hot. Never too cold though.
Room had a separate living room with a pull out couch. Staff was incredible and always made space at the restaurant. Very accommodating with any request.

United States of AmericaA complimentary breakfast would have been nice. It was difficult to contact the property after 5 pm. (We were told, upon arrival, that they were short staffed.)
The ambiance of the inn was charming. The room was well appointed. We liked the gas log fireplace that provided heat and a comfortable focal point. The coffee available in the dining room was very good. It was quiet, and we enjoyed our view of the garden. We wish we would have stayed longer.

United States of AmericaAs is the case everywhere right now, the inn was understaffed when we were there (late July 2023), so they didn't offer dinner two nights a week (which happened to be the two nights we were staying there, Sunday and Monday). The staff who were there, though, were very accommodating and friendly. I imagine things will be back to normal soon, especially for ski season.
We stayed on the third floor, in a two-room suite facing the mountains, and it was very cozy and quiet.
