The property itself is lovely- The breakfast food options were fantastic. I think Zane Grey would highly benefit from a twilight or evening “bites or wine flight” option in the evenings -doesn’t have to be complimentary -the view was so stunning we didn’t even want to leave for dinner.

Clean, comfortable - spectacular views- breakfast was perfect.

The glaring lights of the smoke alarm and air conditioning unit are annoying because they are right above the bed (room 106). Someone else has covered the smoke alarm lights with masking tape. Otherwise, the staff and accommodations are wonderful.

We opted to get a prepared breakfast in town.

    Nothing I can think of.

It is an historic facility at an excellent location. The availability of free "golf cart" service from the hotel to downtown, and back, was very useful. The staff is attentive to your needs.

Breakfast was ridiculously low grade (unhealthy junk) compared to the crazy expensive price for the room.($1550 for 2 nights) Toilet seat was replaced probably in the last moment with a smaller one. It looked really awkward. Bed for the kid had stains, which was cleaned after we notified the front desk. 2nd night was unfortunately windy and all things (tables, chairs, cabinet doors) on the roof top above us were flying and moving. The walls are paper thin so you can hear literally everything.

    Beautiful view and comfortable beds.

The breakfast was mediocre A guest staying next to the pool area told my kids to Shut Up!, when they were playing in the pool. She was rude and disrespectful to my kids for no apparent reason.

The history of the building The location was quiet and isolated Looks like a renovation took place recently, however, the rooms have plenty of imperfections and the furniture was damaged, worn out.

Amenities were not worth the price. Stayed in a standard queen room for over $500/night for bare minimum hotel services. No room service, no phone in the room, no bath, no elevator directly to room - lots of stairs. Just seems overpriced in my opinion.

Views were incredible. Bedding was clean. Offered rides to/from town from 8am-10pm via golf cart which was super helpful.

Because the property itself is older, there are some things that can’t be helped. For example, we found a few potato bugs that entered the crevasses of our room every day. (We just removed them when we’d find them.) There was also a mild musty smell that I chalked up to the age of the property, but it got better after opening the windows.

The views and hotel aesthetics were worth the stay. The amenities, specifically the breakfast bar and the rides to/from the hotel, were also wonderful perks. Most of all, we really enjoyed our interactions with the staff. They were all incredibly hospitable and helpful.

The room was very dark and smelled musty/moldy. There was also construction or some kind of ongoing noise above us all day. It rained very hard fir 2 if tge three days we were on Catalaina, so views were obstructed or very minimal by fog/cloud cover. Before booking this more expensive hotel, consider the season to determine if the lovely views will be visible.

The shuttle to and from town was really convenient, and staff were very accommodating.

The 2nd bedroom lacked privacy (curtains were difficult to close on a window that faced the stairs to the next level) and the TV did not work. The breakfast was adequate, but the room was austere.

A shuttle picked us up at the ferry and drove us up the steep hill to the hotel. The same shuttle was available throughout our stay to take us to and from town. The room had a fabulous view looking down on Catalina Harbor and a lovely terrace. The beds were comfortable and had high quality linens. The bathroom was very large and exceptionally nice with an enclosed shower stall separate from the bathtub.

There were only a couple of minor issues, such as the heat not working properly and a couple of window screens not opening, but they were not a big deal at all.

The staff was great, everyone from the person at check-in to the housekeepers, the drivers who took us to the hotel and dropped off our bags, who handled the breakfast area—everyone was very helpful. I can only recall the names of Carlos, José and Daniel, but the latter's wife and her sister were also stellar and went above and beyond in their service.

Our kind suite had a nice living room but the rollout couch, which nobody slept in, was super uncomfortable to sit on. Side chair wasn't much better as the seat was sprung/uneven.
