The bathroom shower area was open concept so one should bear that in mind before booking.

The facilities were good and the staff were very friendly and attentive. They were able to book us a transfer and a rental car on very short notice.

Don’t eat dinner in the hotel. Not only is the food not as good but you do not get the tax back as you do in the local restaurants so it’s much more expensive.

Very stylish hotel with very friendly check in staff (shame about the guys who did check out!) and parking valet porters. Good buffet breakfast with a wide spread plus you can order freshly cooked items. Room was spacious with a fantastic view of the beach opposite. The main hall is very elegant with beautiful flowers. The neighbourhood is great with a good range of restaurants and shops on the doorstep. Also lovely inside/outside swimming pool

The area is very quiet. One night was more than enough for me. You can’t really swim here but the beach is spacious and clean

I would invest in a bigger gym with more items and machines rather than having two saunas. It was the only hotel where there was a person at the entrance but he rarely opened the door - unless you were carrying bags. Only one did it all the time. I didn’t catch his name but you were a real pro - thank you! I find that weird - why are you there? For decoration? 😅 I would be extra careful in the rooms - make sure you keep expensive items secured and locked. The breakfast was okay - not so delicious.

The atmosphere, the style, location and overall friendliness of the staff. Always helpful and attentive. The restaurant for lunch was delicious. The sauna is spacious and nice so is the pool.

The indoor pool and spa area smelt bad and heated pool needed a clean. Room service was an impossible feat. You rang a number, automated message was given in English. (great if you speak English, but what if you don't?) However even with English and following the prompts, the IVR sent me into a loop and was never answered. This was very frustrating for us and the Hotel missed out on 3 Adult dinners worth $100-$150 US dollars.

Breakfast was great. Location the absolute best. What a beautiful piece of Architecture. It made us happy to see such an iconic building finally being preserved and looked after. The views from the balconies are wonderful.

Best location in Town! Carrasco is the finest neighborhood in Montevideo! The Hotel itself is a touristic point … gorgeous building in front of “Rambla”! Marvelous!

The bed was way too firm and hard. We had to ask three times for someone to come and bring us extra quilts to add padding underneath the sheets

We expected and old-style grand hotel. Which was true for the building and the common areas. However the rooms were renovated in a modern, darkish, business-hotel manner style with no individual flair. The location is a long way from the old city. you need a car to get around.

the reservation manager was less than gracious; the check in/concierge staff was not well trained; the dinner food was at best average (they could do with a new chef)

a hotel like this needs a better Chef in the dining room. both my dinners in the hotel were fair at best. breakfasts were fine. the reservation manager was not accommodating nor very nice.

Fridge was too small and inside a cabinet so it was hot. They made some holes arround which did not help. No sink in the Kitchennette, so you had to go to the social bathroom to rinse coffee cups, and the sink was very narrow. We were unable to check in on time because the room was not ready so they upgraded us but we ended up occupying the room at 17:30 so we waisted a lot of time. Room needs more outlets, they are not in very good conditions so when you try to plug something it falls.

The bed was too soft but still comfortable enough to get a good sleep. The reception area was extremely cold with airco at exagerated low temperature. The bar has very limited choice of menu. Overall the hotel dos not have any common spaces where one could just sit and enjoy a cup of tea or read a book. The lobby area could have been used and designed much better.

The room was nice and clean, with amazing shower and nice view on La Rambla and the beach. The dinner at the Restaurant 1921 was an amazing experience. Staff in the hotel was very polite and helpful.

While the hotel itself is stunning, the room (specifically the bathroom) layout was awkward and clumsy to get around.
