How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewBreakfast- buffet style, subpar basic options. Would’ve preferred more variety of fruits and healthy/vegetarian options such as more vegetables, avocado, smoothies. If it wasn’t included it is not worth $35 pp. room- decent room, clean, spacious, air worked fairly well for a hot and humid climate Pool- one pool was closed. Limited entertainment. No music at the pool that was open, even low Caribbean music would have been nice. Beach at Mermaid restaurant was nice. Chairs were great, clean beach, great gear to use. Some games. Would benefit from having some team members who engaged and played games. Did a crab game 1 day. Fire dancers dinner was nice but limited time. Terrace dinner special was extremely over priced. Gym was nice. Tennis courts were nice. Golf course was nice. Definitely a trip for those who just want to sit around and do some reading. Boardwalk area was quaint and tiny and had some great authentic restos. Go to Zeny’z for a DELICIOUS and authentic meal! Not to be missed. PRO TIP: download and use USVI Hail, not a taxi and you will save money if you don’t rent a car!
See above with the good and the not so good.

Verified reviewI loved everything about our stay. From the staff to our room which was extremely clean. The bar was absolutely beautiful scenically. The breakfast was amazing and so was the V.I. Coffee
House keeping doesn’t really change the bedding like a hotel would. You have to ask for that and extra towels if needed.

Verified reviewOverall, this is a nice hotel but a bit pricey for the total amenities provided. The breakfast buffet is included. It's nothing spectacular, but it gets your belly full. The grounds are nice and clean. Be prepared for lots of walking with great views or waiting for a ride. The beaches are very nice, and snorkeling is available. A few options for food, mostly enjoyed the food, but be prepared to pay $$$. Rooms are nice and spacious, clean but do need a bit of updating. Most of the Staff are accommodating, nice and respectful. we enjoyed our stay but did expect a bit more. Lots of things to like about this resort but we will not be going back.
For the price we paid, we did expect a more updated Resort. The food was good but extremely pricey. Drinks are also very overpriced but well-made. Few staff members looked like they didn't want to be there. Some went out of their way to make it special. If you have kids, they will have fun, but do not use the kids' club; it's a complete joke with some of their staff disrespectfully treating kids. Cab rides on the island are also ridiculously expensive, and renting a car is dangerous with driving on the opposite side of the roads, no Uber. Overall, just not what we would consider a return place, many places in Mexico that blow this place away for less.

Verified reviewLunch service at the Mermaid was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life, and I was forced to give an automatic 20% tip for the total lack of service.

Verified reviewLocation was convenient
I called for extra towels, it was not delivered. Upon arrival, we were asked our preference for welcome punch. We didn’t receive our drinks, but our drinks were given to the guests who arrived just minutes after us. There was maxi pad wraps on the bathroom floor when we got there and the toilet bowel had spots of feces. I had to double flushed. It makes me think the cleaning staffs just replaced the toiletries and towels and didn’t clean the toilet or the floor.

Verified reviewWonderful location with incredible beaches and views. One of the nicest places to to stay in the Virgin Islands.
The resort is somewhat isolated requiring. Taxi to go anywhere. Would be nice if the resort had a shuttle bus.

Verified reviewLarge property, very walkable with tons of amenities. The bungalows had excellent ocean views.
The food could have been better for the price, but everything else was excellent! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this resort.
