“We love everything about Phuong Pham Ta Phin Homestay, literally - everything.
We took a train from Hanoi Railway Station to Lao Cai which is a 7 hours ride. By the time we reached, it was 6am.
We were afraid that we might get lost so we called the owner of the homestay, Pho, one day before we reach.
So I called him and told him we will reach Lao Cai at 6am, he immediately say he will arranged the transportation for us. Once we reached Lao Cai just give him a call and the next day when reached Lao Cai, I saw my name written on a paper and the guy was escorting us to his van. (See pictures attached)
Pho and Pham (which is his wife) welcomed us in their homestay and their service is excellent.
Their toilets are clean, and they cook very very delicious food. You can ask them to cook for you but of course you have to pay for the meals and it’s very reasonable.
They will assist you in regarding hiking/trekking or anything you asked for. Their rooms are nice and cozy (but it’s very cold at night so please bring more socks or heat pack during winter time, which is now in October) and they can get you local guide as well.
They are very nice and kind people and the location there is very quiet. It’s very peaceful.
Please remember to call the homestay one day or two day before you arrive so he can make the necessary arrangement. ”
“Clean, large rooms, spacious & modern Vietnamese hotel, newly decorated bathrooms. Caters for local business men (on the Chinese border). View of river from the room (request high floor). Breakfast had many local options. Swimming pool looked inviting, but we didn’t have time. Great, value for money for a one night stay in Lao Cai city on your way to Bac Ha (market) or Sapa or traveling to & from Hanoi.”
