How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe room was very spacious and clean. It was comfortable for a family of three with a living area to enjoy. The hotel is boutique and centrally located. I would recommend this hotel.
The hotel itself included breakfast however on our arrival they immediately offered us breakfast at the hotel across the road. Which they payed for upfront in cash every morning that we has breakfast. Whether this was because our hotel couldn't cater at all or for us specifically is a good question. As for the breakfast provided in the hotel across the road, it was a buffet service with limited vegetarian options (If we are counting eggs) and a lack of local Vietnamese cuisine.

Verified reviewClean comfortable. Our rooms were very big. Even with large double bed and a sofa, there’s still plenty of space to pack 5 luggages A big thank you to the front desk, Mr Long. He was very helpful and patient to attend to our request. He speaks English which make it easier to communicate.
The only issue I have is the bathroom light. It’s pretty dark. A white light will be better.

Verified reviewHighly recommend this hotel! We booked the Suite with city view 4th floor - hotel is in an alleyway so although there was noise (minimal - bike, horns, people selling from carts etc) from the tiny window above the tub in the bathroom, it was quiet at night so our 9 month old slept well. The owner was so lovely - she was very welcoming, always smiling and greeted us & the baby every time we saw her... she's so hard working, always there so late too. Due to the extremely long queue at airport passport check we got to hotel hours later than expected (around 9-10pm) but the owner waited for us to enquire if our baby could sleep on the fold out sofa (it was huge & sheets made) or if we preferred, she would order a crib which is what we opted for, so shortly after bags were brought to the room, staff set up the crib by our bed - which we really appreciated. The crib was smaller than what our baby was used to but she still managed to sleep the week we were here. Crib didn't have waterproof mattress or fitted sheet. Didn't have bumper protector either - so we just made these ourselves using extra sheets... I'm sure she would've ordered all these if we asked but we didn't want to trouble her. The bed & room were huge - 2 separate spaces/ zones divided by curtain. The lobby of hotel and the room was beautifully decorated with paintings and art on wall. Bathroom was clean - bed made & bathroom cleaned daily. Has elevator, aircon, & fridge with heaps of closet & cupboard space. Awesome location - restaurants/ cafes all around, Ben Thanh Market/ Saigon Square like less than 10 min walk. If you turn right outside hotel then left, there are really delicious restaurants: Com Tam Suon to Khong Lo (Owner super lovely) & Bo Ne Ba Nui 94 (omg so good)!!
Continuing on from my comment above (due to word limit)... Overall just a lot of space in this room/ hotel which is perfect for families with kids & due to convenient location - would be great for first time travellers to HCM too so would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to the lovely owner and staff members for the wonderful service during our time here :) Con - The floor was tiled so at times felt abit sticky - not sure if mopped daily..... could just be the humidity of Vietnam, but overall room and hotel was clean

Verified reviewThis stay was okey. We had originally booked an apartment, but got scammed upon arrival to Ho Chi Minh and had to urgently book two different hotels to cover our 1 week stay. Ben Thanh Boutique Hotel became our second accommodation. The cost per night was the same for both accommodations, but in my opinon is Ban Thanh is rather expensive for the level of service and accomodation you receive. What I liked with Ban Thanh was how spacious our room was. It was also properly cleaned and the shower, sink, wc and AC worked fine. I should say that the location of the hotel is really good. There are lots of nice cafes, restaurants nearby. There is also a spa next door which is amazing and worth a visit. What's good about Ben Thanh is that they exists and are reliable. The rooms are properly cleaned, the appliances work and the beds are nice. The hotel is rather small and I think (not sure here) that there are seven floors with 3 rooms on each floor. You should also opt for a room at the highest floors. I am not sure if the other rooms on the floor has balconies, but our room which was on the 3rd floor had a french balcony. And when viewed from outside the I believe that our room from the 5-7th floor has proper balconies on which you can sit outdoors during the evening if you want. I could be wrong though as I'm writing this out of memory.
What I didnt like is that there is a window from the toilet into the main room. The window can be blocked with a roller-blind. The bad part is that the part above the window is opened, meaning there is no glass or anything. Its just a partial open wall meaning that whatever business your doing in the bathroom is clearly heard by your partner/family members outside. Not very romantic at all. We solved it by asking each other to put on headphones when we needed to use the bathroom. But for this price-range in Ho Chi Minh, you shouldnt have to do that. At the day of our arrival I asked through booking if we could check in one our earlier. 1 PM instead of the offical 2 PM. My experience from traveling is that hotels tend to do their best to allow for earlier check-in. In this situation my request was flat out denied, refering to their check-in time starting from 2PM, which is an acceptable reason. So I changed our check-in time to 14-15PM. The thing that bothered me was when we arrived at 14:05, we had to wait 30 min for our room to get ready. If I you turn down my request, but then fail to be ready the time we agreed upon then I am not pleased. We weren't greeted with any small talk or what you usually get within the service-industry ("Sorry that we couldnt check you in earlier..."). We more met with the attitude of a Karen. There was flat out no curiosity towards me and my partner to why we were there, at their hotel or why we were visiting Ho Chi Minh. From my experiences I am usued to hotel-staff being asking questions to their guests in order to sell additional services or just give general advices about the neighbourhood to ensure that the guests has such good vacation as possible. Here, it felt more like we were ruining the day by staying with them. The woman at the reception didnt inform us about opening hours of the reception, if they served breakfast or not, or any additional services they offered.
Please understand that request for early check-in will be auto template reply "Check-in time is 2:00PM". We always give guests check-in 1-2 hours earlier if room is available. Before guest arrives, we always send a letter to offer the services. Guest have the option to book room only or with breakfast included. You booked a family room with 2 beds, when you arrived the room is ready for you to check in. You only have to wait until 14:13 to move into the room after Karen's request to fold 1 bed instead of 2 was finished in 10 minutes. We appreciate your comments to help us improve the service.
