Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesChapa Farmstay is minimal yet beautifully designed, rooted in the aesthetics of Black Hmong architecture and set within the stunning landscape of rice fields. It is the creation of Lily and her husband, who have poured great attention into every detail of the farmhouse while also keeping it as a warm, multigenerational family home. We truly admired Lily’s strength and hard work, and also shared her concerns about the rapid hotel development in the region that is distorting the landscape and leaving little space for small farmstays to survive. For anyone who values authentic experiences of Sapa, choosing to stay at Chapa is not only a memorable encounter but also a way to support the people and communities who have lived on this land for generations. It is a perfect place for artists, travelers, and anyone seeking inspiration in a genuine setting.

United StatesWe liked everything.
Chapa Farmstay is an exceptional place to stay outside of Sapa. There’s a winding road to get to, but once there, its quiet and charm with a warm, welcoming family is exceptional. The individual room has the most stunning view of the valley and mountains, and so quiet! Loved waking to the sound of a rooster crowing. The hosts are so kind and welcoming, offer meals at times convenient for you and are very very good. We hired the same taxi driver over two days so he became familiar with the route. You won’t be disappointed with the quality, cleanliness and service. The showers and bathroom were spotless, the bed soooooo comfortable. Even the lighting in the room was thoughtful, with bedside lighting, overall room lighting, and a night light. A little porch outside the room was a nice place to sit, as were another sitting area with a swing and table and chairs. You can walk on a path on the grounds below the main house, there are many paths with little spots where you can picnic or light a fire, a roofed gazebo, a suspension bridge.

United KingdomThe views are lovely, the accommodation charming and very clean and the family who run the Farmstay are such brilliant hosts. It is a really great way to see the family life of a local family in comfort. The hosts let us check in very early. We had an issue with our flights and one of the hosts was so incredibly helpful - spending a lot of time on her phone to try and resolve it and offering to help arrange transport etc. It was really above and beyond what we could have expected. We took a trekking tour which was great and arranged by the Farmstay - seeing local villages and having a very nice lunch at a local house. The breakfasts at the Farmstay were delicious and huge portions. The Farmstay is about 10/15 mins out of Sapa, but even though the road is quite rocky in parts it was very easy to get a Grab taxi and worth it to be in such a quiet and peaceful spot. There are a couple of nice looking cafes close to the Farmstay too, we didn’t get to try (with lovely views). Thank you for a brilliant stay.

United KingdomNothing - everything was perfect
We were blown away when we walked into Chapa Farmstay. It is run by such a lovely family who cannot do enough for you! We chose to stay here last minute as our hotel was in Sapa town and wanted a break from the city, and this did not disappoint. The views are incredible, and the balcony in the room is the star of the show! I have never stayed anywhere like this before and urge anyone thinking of booking to book!! Everywhere you turn it is endless views. Pictures will never do this place justice, it is so scenic. Thank you for the most lovely stay, we can't wait to return.
