WiFi isn’t great. The hostel was very busy and there are not many communal areas to relax. There’s also no A/C downstairs so it’s very hot, only a few fans that you get if you’re lucky.

Stayed in the mixed 6-bed dorm and beds were really comfy! Curtains give the perfect amount of privacy at night. A/C cannot be controlled so it’s very cold in the room (slept in a jumper) but better than being hot. Staff were very helpful with everything we needed - we cancelled one night due to the storm and didn’t have to pay, hired motorbikes, booked buses for onward travel and organised laundry. Breakfast is basic, but this is a standard across Vietnam so not a surprise.

It was just perfect! The staff was super nice, helping you with everything you need (bus, tours, motorbikes, etc). The room was very clean, comfortable, and it had air conditioning which was great! To sum up, they were really helpful, the tours they offer are great (we did the plankton one), and they arranged a bus to Hanoi for us for a very reasonable price! Totally recommend!!

Bathroom plumbing and ventilation could be improved. Pool is ok, noticeable chlorine smell.

Stayed here twice (2024&2025) in there dorm beds. Nice location, easy access to a less crowded beach near by. In a quieter area but still close to a lot of shops and in walking distance to many restaurants. Great and friendly services at the front desk. Breakfast was great. Bed was comfy and roomy, room was clean. Still recommend to stay here if you want to stay away from the crowded touristy and noisy area. Price is excellent for the level of service and facilities. You can also rent scooter with good price there (condition is a little poor)

there was quite some mold in the room on the ceiling in front of the bathroom which did not feel nice. also, the breakfast dishes are not really kept in good condition I would say which is why I got a stomach bug...We recommend this accommodation for sure, just don't trust the breakfast :)

We got a nice room upgrade to a room with a view, that we really appreciated. The room is also very cozy and the view is super nice. There was a staff member, not sure of his name, that helped us a lot and was super super kind.

On the outskirt of the town but we got our own vehicle so it was no issue. Pretty places, friendly staffs, reasonable prices. We got upgraded to the inn infront of the pool, so much love to the owner for that

Motorbikes on rental were not very good, but they were cheap.

We were upgraded to a room with a nicer view without even asking. Facilities exceeded our expectations, especially due to the incredible value for money. We had cooked breakfast on both days and staff was helpful and courteous. A little away from the town centre but walkable in 30 mins or quick motorbike ride.

Pretty far from the city center Not that clean (a dead lizard was not removed for many days…) House cleaning is not made in the room, they only give you new towels

The host was really accommodating and helped me book multiple trips while staying there. They have scooter rentals, and boat tours out of the hotel. They upgraded my room for me to have a view which was really kind. Included breakfast was great.

The only thing is that breakfast is until 9:30 and at 9:15 they start clearing away all the food, which is a bit stressful and unpleasant.

Wow I don't even know where to start. Every problem we had was handled in the most professional way possible. We asked to move rooms because of dirt and they immediately moved us to another room that was much better value and didn't charge us any extra. We also booked a sleeper bus ride through them, and on the way we were unable to understand the drivers, so we called the hotel manager (who left us his number in case of need) And he talked to them and explained everything to us. Oh and their breakfast is really good! Excellent price for service.

Bungalow was quite cold in March and there were birds really early in the morning going on continuous. After asking for a room in the building, the owner was so nice to change our room and give us a discount.

Quiet at night, since it was not a party hostel. Also possible to rent scooters and explore the island a bit.

Amazing hostel with lovely and very helpful staff, beautiful garden, big rooms, comfy beds and great buffet breakfast. Totally recomend it! Also useful services for fair orice: selling great trips, buses, rent motorbike, laundry. Beautifull location with mountain view, very quiet area. Loved it!

A weird and loud fight broke out between the staff in the kitchen, with shouting and breaking stuff. Also some of the staff take very loud breaks, while guests are resting by the pool. We booked a mini-bus to and from Cat Ba National Park through the hostel, maybe we were unlucky but on the way back it was over capacity and there were no places to sit. Seems a bit overpriced, maybe better to arrange on your own if possible.

The reception staff is really helpful and kind, they contacted us immediately after booking and helped us organize our transport, activities and answer any questions we had. We got upgraded to a room with windows and a view and we were very happy with that. The room is comfortable and the breakfast is decent. The hostel is in an alley and further from town, so there is very little noise at night (other than from the dorm or the occasional rooster). Good base to explore the island and chill afterwards by the pool (which seems to not be maintained at the moment, especially as it's been cold for the last few days).

The location is a bit far from the main hub but they can help you can rent a motorbike for a good price or use the motorbike taxi.

It is a bit far from the center of Cat Ba and you need to rent a scooter, take a local bus or walk 25 minutes to get there. Close by there are some local shops, restaurants and supermarkets.

The hostel is great, from the common area, the bar, the breakfast (continental, very generous) and the staff, super friendly and speaking a great English. I stayed in a 6 bedroom room. The bed was comfortable and spacious, and there was a private room to share with the other guests. Towels are provided.
