I only stayed here for one night but honestly wish I’d booked longer. The place is up on the mountain, so you get these insane views over the hills and valley — especially from the pool. Just sitting there with a cold drink and watching the sunset was a highlight of my trip. The room was simple but comfy, and the vibe was super laid-back. The staff were really friendly and made it ridiculously easy to book a boat tour to Lan Ha Bay — I just asked at reception and everything was sorted within minutes. Perfect spot if you want somewhere quiet to chill, swim, and take in the view, but still be able to get out and explore. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in Cat Ba.

Mountain view is a cuddle! :) It’s quite far from the town center, so no restaurants or night life around but this was precisely what I was looking for so perfect for me. It’s very quiet, calm and relaxing and the only noise you’ll hear at night are the lizards - very funny ones! I want to give 100 points (out of 10) to the staff: THEY ARE THE BEST! Super helpful with a anything you might ask of need and very knowledgeable about the island: they will give you tips and info about where to go, what to do and they also have some tours they can book for you. I did with them the boat tour to Ha Long and Cat Ba Bay and I was very satisfied. Definitely recommend Mountain View if you are looking for a chill and relaxed place to stay with lovely people who’ll make you feel like home! <3 PS: I even got upgraded to a bungalow room after the first night at no additional costs :)

A little run down and quiet, and far from options for food.

Location is good if you want to be a bit out of town. They offer bike hire which makes I convenient. Quirky rooms and place. Hosts are helpful.

We could hear karaoke from the village as the room is on the top of the hill. The view isn’t as good as it probably used to be because of all the development near by. On one night they left the music playing (it was relaxing music) in the shared communal area but when we mentioned it the next day, this didn’t happen the following night. The hot water didn’t last too long so had to be quick with showers!

The breakfast was really good with egg Bahn Mi’s (though the coffee wasn’t great).The nephew of the owner cooks it and is super friendly. The owner is really friendly and offered to drive us into town free of charge. He also picked us up from the cat ba national park for less than the cost of a taxi. We were able to leave our bags at the accommodation when we spent a night in cat ba national park.

There are a lot of stairs to reach the bar.

The staff were really helpful. I love them. They advised us with everything we asked. They help us to rent a bike and arrange our route to Ha Giang. The rooms are really nice, kind of traditional, with wood and the view from the bar or from the upper accommodation is awesome. Thank you Cat Ba Mountain View for your hospitality.

The view is a bit ruined by construction work down the hill and across the main road. If you want to get any food, need to have a bike to commute to town.

Nice pool and great staff. We were there right after typhoon so the property was a bit messy but they upgraded us to a nicer room for free. And there was a cute puppy :)

I wished that the bathrooms would be a little bit cleaner, especially when they are used by different people. Also, we did get only one towel for 2 people, that were not very clean.

The view was stunning and the huts were quiet cute. It was very cheap to rent a nice motorcycle .

We had to prove our breakfast was included, even if it was in their system already. Laundry was still wet when we got it back, but clean and not smelly.

Even if constructions are happening on the other side of the road, the view is still enjoyable. The food was good and the rooms clean and with good A/C, the pool is very nice

The pool was up a mountain and you had to walk many stairs to get there.

The bungalow and the property is very beautiful! Very cosy and nature like. We liked the employees very much, they are friendly and help out with every need.

Quite far from restaurants, there are a couple of shops nearby though and it’s fine if you have a moped which you can hire there for a good price. The breakfast was also very good but ends at 9. Nice pool too.

The breakfast took long to arrive. When you book anything else, besides the bungalow, you will have a room at the bottom and you need to go up the mountain to enjoy the views. The beds could be a little bit more comfortable (mattress is on the ground)

Really nice view from the top of the mountain, especially during sunset. The Australian guy working there was very helpful. Really good prices for renting a motorbike.

We moved hostels because we wanted to be a little bit closer to the centre of cat ba. @ booking.com it said they had a private beach but this was not true

The property was advertised as "beachfront" with beach access but there is a huge development across the street and there is no beach access. Not a very walkable area.

The front desk attendant was very helpful and friendly.

The bathroom wasn’t very clean and smelt bad. Cold showers. Pool was also green but otherwise nice vibe!

Great spot and views, scooter hire which is great for getting around the island. Very friendly staff! Allowed us to extend our stay.
