Excellent Guest House. As a group of 8 we had the whole place to ourselves. The pool and rooms were great, the breakfast offering was really good and the bonus was that it was within walking distance to the restaurants and beach. We only stayed one night this time, but can't wait to return next time we visit the area.

Convenient location near King Shaka airport, secure parking, near shops and restaurants and short walk/drive to beach front. Friendly staff, good communication and made to feel welcome. Clean and comfortable double room with views and all amenities. Dining and sitting areas with lovely views and superb breakfast included. Tastefully decorated. Would highly recommend for short and longer stays.

Absolutely everything! From the very moment of booking. Feedback was prompt, courteous, and efficient. After hours check-in, with Thabisha, was such an awesome pleasure. Thank you Thabisha - you made me feel immediately welcome, and @ Home. Many many thanks also to Cilla and team, for accommodating a second guest, at such short notice. You guys are absolute Rock Stars! I cannot wait to bring my wife for the next stay @ Anchor's Rest, in Umhlanga.

4 night business trip. Location is excellent. 3 minit walk to restuarants and shopping centre in Lighthouse Mall.Accomodatiion excellent . Breakfast menu large and varied for both fresh and hot choices. Real value for money. Highly recommend this guesthouse for future visits.

Very comfortable, in the heart of Umhlanga. Hosts were so accommodating to let us check in early as we had a wedding that afternoon, as prepare an earlier breakfast the next morning as we had some things to sort out before flying out. Room was comfortable, with filtered water provided which was a nice touch! (Always end up buying waters at most other establishments). Will definitely recommend!

We felt the two large pictures on the side walls in our room were not thematically suitable.

Anchors rest is amazing. The bathroom was spotless. King bed very comfortable, toiletries great quality and the tea bags were of superior quality. We did not book breakfast so cannot comment on it. We were welcomed by a charming English lady when we arrived earlier than expected and treated to tea and biscuits at the sparkling pool. Anchors rest can really be recommended as there was simply nothing that was not exceptional. We loved the pictures in the reception area and the small pictures above our bed. The large pictures on the side walls in our room were out of place.Thanks for a stunning stay. We will surely pass on your contact details.

Tight parking

The B&B was great. The bedroom come kitchenette come lounge and separate bathroom were all spacious and well equipped and laid out with a very big veranda which overlooked the beautifully lit pool at night. The breakfast was great, as was the staff.
