I loved it all!

Great location! Just a 10 minute walk from the waterfront , but a lot more peaceful and quiet than staying in all the hustle and bustle! Super comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom with free standing bath! Lovely pool area and big front private terrace ! All the staff are super friendly and polite and make you feel very welcome

I was woken a few times overnight by what I presumed was the night porter - door opening and closing and footsteps on the wooden floor. I don’t know if something as simple as softer shoes might help people sleep

Felt like the bathroom needed a deeper clean due to mouldy grout and the pool wasn’t clean enough to use. There had been some bad weather but even on our third day it still looked dirty

Great historical building with cracking wooden floors & beautiful Pool area. Unfortunately my small room #3 was next to the kitchen and starting from 05:00AM you could hear kitchen preparations etc. For €150 a night I had expected much more in all honesty. Especially because I stayed already in 3x other great properties in Cape Town for half this price. I assume, reading most reviews on TA, that from most rooms in the main house you can hear conversations in the hallway, lounge or pool area like I could from my room. I appreciated the offer for a room change after my first night, but I declined as with earplugs it was ok for me and I was going home the next morning anyway. I would advise to book one of the two (new) separate rooms with sliding doors in the garden/pool area for silence and privacy. Breakfast very good & loved the poached eggs and the espresso.

Location great during the day and walking distance from V&A Waterfront. Restaurants & coffee shops within 5min walking. Fantastic Deli (Giovanni’s) in the area to get a sandwich, salad or hot meal.

This hotel is stunning. The decor is beautiful, everything is so well thought out. Breakfast was delicious in a gorgeous setting overlooking the pool. The pool is great and a decent size with lots of space to chill. They also offer complimentary wine after 3.30 each day which is a lovely touch. What really sets this place apart is the staff. Bob the night manager is so friendly and attentive and all the staff we met and spoke to were so welcoming and friendly. The location is good and easy to get to the Waterfront.

The toilet door in the room didn’t really work, but I’m told that’s being fixed, and there was another right outside our room that we just used instead so it wasn’t a big deal.

A lovely place 10/15 minutes walk to the waterfront. We could book into our room early which was really helpful for our plans. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Lovely touches like complimentary wine in the afternoon and Whisky in the evening. The breakfast was delicious. The pool area clean and inviting. There was also the facility to leave bags while we were waiting for our airport check in. All in all cape Diem couldn’t have been more accommodating . Thank you very much

Absolutely no issues

This is such a wonderful place! At Cape Diem Lodge we felt right at home, maybe it was the amazing staff, the gorgeous rooms or the comfortable and homey place itself – maybe it was all of it! The area is safe and the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The pool and (excellent) breakfast were benefits, too. We will definitely come back here next time we're in Capetown.

There was not enough sunbeds around the pool and another umbrella is definitely needed. Also not a bar for us to have a nightcap before retiring, which we had at other accommodation in SA. Also the climb back up the hill is not for the faint hearted.

The building is authentically old, so the floors are squeaky and unfortunately also the doors are not very isolated, so you could hear all the other guests.

It felt like a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city. The staff were super nice, letting us store our luggage during the day of our departure and being helpful throughout our stay. Also the bed felt as if were sleeping on clouds!

A lovely boutique hotel in great safe location just 10 min stroll from waterfront, fabulous bedrooms with super comfy beds & and great pool. Staff were so friendly & helpful with recommendations & tours. It was so good, we decided to return here before travelling back to the UK.
