There were some issues that were entirely beyond the host's control, but these were addressed immediately and by the most amazing host I have ever come across - what a wonderful lady!

The lighting in the kitchen could have been a bit brighter, over the work places. A head height warning over the stove and microwave would have been useful. A little challenging to find the driveway in the dark. Secondary house had more stairs.

Easy access - no steps access into main house. Sunny view, nice to be able to sit outside enjoying the environment. Comfortable beds for everyone. Good heating in the rooms

Only inconvenience experienced was with lots of ticks picked up when walking around the farm, which is not within their control and does not reflect our overall stay.

Great location less than 5km out of McGregor town. There are many paths through the orchards to walk around the farm with your dogs. Nice dam for a swim and excellent braai and hot tub facilities at the cottage with comfortable outside seating to enjoy morning coffee or a sunset. Air conditioning in the bedroom is also a nice bonus.

The door to the adjacent rooms were a bit of figuring out but a small issue compared to how lovely everything else was.

So well equipped, clean and beautiful finishes. The play area was right on our doorstop, we had everything we needed for the amount of people we had. We left there planning when we’ll be coming back, loved everything about the property! Kids were in their element living with so much freedom and safety.

We stayed at Lemon Tree Cottage. Our host Ina's care is evident in the cottage. From the AC, supplied wood, welcome chocolates to the well equipped kitchen and braai facility. We enjoyed walks, fishing, kayaking, the hot tub, wine tasting and my favorite - star gazing from the porch. The biggest perk of this cottage is that there is always something to do regardless of weather. On windy days we played board games at the kitchen table or watched movies on the dstv. There's even an indoor braai. Lastly, I would like to mention how immaculately clean the cottage was - to the point where it was the first thing I noticed. I highly recommend Fossil Hills, especially for a group or family. They are pet friendly, if you visit with your (socialised) dog be sure to visit Lord's wine farm they were so welcoming of our dog.

The outside light at the hot tub was not operational. A privacy screen between the bathroom and the bedroom would have been appreciated. Could not find fault with anything else in the cottages. Thanks

Cottages are very well appointed with everything which you would need for a few days away. The hot tub is a winner. We took 2 walks a day through the hills and orchards and were amazed by the flora on the property. Will be back as there were so many places we did not get to see in the 2 days.

Water pressure in the shower was very poor in comparison to the rest of the house. Possibly look into a pressure pump.

Superb location and clean facilities. The Kol Kol Pool is a must! Wonderful break away for a couple. Loved the setting and the whole experience.

We did not receive a whatsapp pin location so we initally had some difficulty finding the house but eventually figured it out. The annex was said to have a king bed but the 2 three quarter beds weren't made into a king bed. Instead it was left as 2 separate beds. The mountain bikes booked was not at the cabin an we were not sure where to find these. Could've just been that we did not read the guidelines properly.

It was wonderfully peaceful with beautiful views. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the views. It was really wonderful that we were able to check out later on the Sunday as we were able to enjoy our time there and get value for our money. We were not rushed to get up and get out but could rather sleep in and enjoy the morning.

The setting is tranquil and beautiful. Loved the complete privacy. It reminded our mom of growing up on the farm. The perfect surprise birthday getaway. Ina was super helpful and amazing. We loved the spring flowers, birds and froggies. And the hot tub is just the BEST. Thanks for an incredible stay.

The hosts are attentive. The location is unbeatable (even saw springbok), the hiking trails are lovely, there’s so much to do but the hot tub was the best. The house is very well equipped, had everything we needed.
