The breakfast was delicious and plentiful - we enjoyed sitting on the terrace and the views of the sea. The pool was also great and we loved the beanbags. We also enjoyed the honesty bar. More than anything, the decor and the atmosphere was very convivial and totally unique, with books and furniture, such as a rolltop bath, which were evocative of a bygone era, but combined with all the modern comforts such as AC. We loved the touches such as complimentary drinks, books and magazines in our rooms.

This was one of the best stay I had in Durban. The place looks amazing the location was perfect the breakfast was amazing. And the staff very professional and welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay.

Nothing. The safely issue in durban is a concern but at no stage did we feel unsafe in the lovely guesthouse.

From the moment we stepped inside I knew we had made the right choice. We didn't arrive till 7.30pm exhausted after a full day traveling. Thank you so much Goodman for making us so comfortable in our gorgeous room, then going up to the local pizza place and getting us a pizza for dinner which we enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the tropical paradise. The following night we booked a restaurant, intending to get a cab there. However, they couldn't get a cab to go the short distance, so the owner lent Goodman his car to take us safely to the restaurant and pick us up after dinner. This very kind gesture was greatly appreciated. We would highly recommend staying at this guest house as the breakfast was fabulous, the rooms and communal areas were really beautifully decorated, and the service was phenomenal. Thank you all for making our stay in durban one to remember.

All the plants attract insects so there are a lot of Insects. The driveway is very steep and there is very little parking so most of the time people are boxed in.

The people were very friendly and helpful. The place was peaceful and quiet. The look of the place is beautiful. It has an old style antique look. There's a nice pool. There are a lot of unique and wonderful features. The room is very big and spacious.

Not enough parking places beside the two entrance gates.

We liked the friendly atmosphere and the flexibility of the staff. We are vegetarian, we had a visitor at breakfast an we had been late once. That was no problem at all. Many thanks also for the driving instruction to the sightseeing points. Thanks also for overnight security.

The only thing that didn't quite work was WiFi - however, we didn't really use it anyways...

A charming property located on the hillside, with the view from the balcony of the room over Durban CBD, while the terrace where the breakfast is served has a nice view over the ocean. The check-in was easy and efficient, the room was clean and welcoming. Adapter from SA to EU socket was provided, as was the hairdryer. There was a well-compiled catalogue of all the best places in town, we used that recommendation to visit a restaurant on Florida road - and we were not disappointed. Popped into an honesty bar for a glass of wine and a short chat with the owner and other guests, the owner does put a lot of effort into this property and he does find time to talk to each and every guest...which is far cry from the modern / chain hotels We slept well, the AC worked like a charm. The breakfast was delicious, with extended offer of diary products and fruit. We really liked it.
