This boutique hotel exceeded my expectations. The decor and layout were intriguing and enveloping. The staff was the most helpful staff I have ever met. Everyone took the initiative to make our stay as exceptional as possible. Their dinner recommendation was perfect. Above and beyond doesn't describe the attitude and performance of the staff. They upgraded our room to a separate suite with a private porch and a fireplace. Perfect for a rainy day, as was the umbrella they offered. The room was large, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. Another example was we checked out, did the wine tram, and were then going to the airport for our late night flight. They offered us a shower in an empty room. It was refreshing and an excellent touch. And brekfast was excellent and with outstanding service. I was decding between two hotels for this stay. I definitely made the right choice.

Nothing, it was all perfect!

I can't fault this hotel. Everything from the location, the rooms, the staff, the bar and the breakfast were all excellent! the staff were so helpful when we needed assistance with a doctors appointment and for booking restaurants especially for a birthday celebration. Just fantastic in everyway. We will definitely be back.

There is nothing I didn’t like about the property.

Everything about the property was absolutely spectacular. From the warm welcome of Kim and all staff, to Kim’s quick help in getting us booked on the tram to go around the wine estates and making us dinner reservations in an awesome spot, to an absolutely gorgeous room we had (clean, beautifully decorated, has literally all you need in it (felt like a small house)) - to the little gestures such as keeping for us small chocolates and the list goes on. The location is literally a minute walk from all cafes and shops around. And breakfast was beyond fantastic. Great great place to stay in I would highly recommend it.

Loved everything

We recently stayed at La Fontaine in Franschhoek and couldn't recommend it enough. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, with lovely garden and pool areas outside. Rooms serviced daily with an evening turndown service too. The buffet breakfast was by far the best we've had in a very long time - from fresh fruits to tasty hot breakfasts, each day was different and delicious. But the real magic of this place is the staff. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were treated with kindness and care. The full team made our stay truly memorable: a big warm welcome, helping us with activity ideas, pouring drinks with a smile, and even just chatting in the common areas. We are so grateful to the wonderful people who keep the hotel running - we felt as if we were in our own home. Thank you - we will certainly be back!

Genuinely nothing to report.

Staff were excellent and always helpful and attentive. Breakfast / Facilities / Bedroom / Pool - all exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate going back. Additionally - I had an issue with a piece of equipment I brought with me. Member of staff mended it with no hesitation. It was as good as new and I have had no trouble with it since. (Hope you enjoyed the Irish Whiskey)

We loved everything, the decor, comfort, breakfasts, the rooms and the gorgeous bar! The staff were fantastic and overall, one of the most enjoyable weekend aways. The location is also perfect, a very short walk to main street but totally quiet and cocooned!

Amazing place to stay in Franschoek! The staff were absolutely brilliant, attentive, welcoming, helpful, always putting the customer first. Thanyou to you all. Location was spot on, rooms were very clean, comfortable and well equipped and breakfast was so tasty! Special mention to Carlos, the loveliest host who went the extra mile to book all our trips and restaurant reservations. Cannot praise this place enough!

The service at La Fontaine was unbelievable. So personal. They honestly couldn’t do enough for us. The room was beautifully decorated and the breakfast and bar service were excellent. It’s brilliantly located in the heard of the town so a very short stroll to all the restaurants and wine tour!

This hotel is a special find ! We loved our time here. The hotel is so beautiful, the rooms are spacious , beds are massive & super comfy , the staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble , they know each guest individually and are always so helpful. They arranged dinner reservations, massages, lifts to the wine tram & back again. We used the bikes on offer and had a little trip around 2 local wineries one of the afternoons - really enjoyable One of the nicest boutique hotels we have ever stayed in

Parking was a mess -- we left our car on the street throughout our stay as we were unwilling to pay tetris with a rental car and a huge deductible. The parking was probably laid out when either the trees or the cars were smaller! Wifi was spotty, but we found that throughout South Africa -- I'm sure it's part of the loadshedding or, as someone else pointed out, perhaps due to damage caused by the recent huge landslides in Franschhoek. Finally our bathroom drain had a bit of an unfortunate "funky" smell which necessitated leaving the window open. Given that it was in the 30s every day, it did mean the bathroom was unpleasantly warm.

The tone was set by the terrific and hardworking staff who had a particular challenge as our room was on the very top of the "second building" and we had 3 big and heavy suitcases. The view of the Boland mountain range from our room was fabulous as was chilling after a hard day of wine tasting (lol) with a bourbon at the colonial throwback bar. Selection of breakfast food was extensive and very good quality and served by a literal swarm of waiting staff.

Excellent location, lovely hotel and fabulous helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast had a great choice of hot food and buffet with fresh fruits, breads, cheeses and cereals- perfect. Our suite was perfect and located near the pool, lovely big bathroom with bath and shower, huge comfortable bed. Everything was just lovely and relaxed with friendly helpful staff - an absolute pleasure! We’ll be back for sure
