The basics could be improved, for example better quality cushions in the bedrooms, nicer towls and soap in the bathroom. However, these are small things, on the whole it was a lovely place to stay.

Close to Kelly's beach, just a 15-minute walk. Comfortable stay with friendly hosts. The accommodation is the owner's study which he converted into a two-bedroom garden flat. I liked staying on the property with other people about, made me feel safe. Their cat and dogs also visited us regularly, which felt very homy.

The house and rooms were in great condition, and the host was very courteous and accommodating. The location was quiet central and within walking distance of the main center. I definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to stay in Port Alfred.

Being able to stay much longer.

Dave makes you feel very welcome and at home within minutes of arrival. There is everything you need in the apartment and more. Bed is very comfortable. Parking is safe on the driveway just outside the house. The shower was fantastic with rain, body and handheld shower heads. There is an invertor so TV and lights are still on. Gas stovetop so cooking also not affected. Views from the house are stunning. Dave's daughter Britanny even brought me some freshly made crepes. I extended my stay as it was just so comfortable. If you are reading this review don't hang about just book it.

Not to be mean but I didn’t like being monitored by the host on who comes and goes because they live on the property. I booked for 3 and obviously 3 people Will sleep. Having a guest or two come see you is inevitable when visiting a new place, You bound to make a friend or meet a friend or two.

The house is beautiful, clean and neat. Own space and great location.

The privacy aspect was not something I was too happy with. I think if you know you have people over, you don't arrange your garden boy to be up and down and looking into the place. The owner was the same, when we were outside, she was too, and she was constantly outside. This wouldn't have been an issue if we were allowed to close all the blinds, but there are labels everywhere with what you are not allowed to do. Secondly, the page said that the pool would be available, but the pool was covered throughout our stay, and on the Saturday we thought it was being opened it was cleaned and closed again. You are also not sure what facilities you are allowed to use and which not as there is a book with rules with what you need to request first, but sadly the communication when you do request is not too great. We requested which braai we could use, I am still waiting for a response a day later. We ended up using what we thought was ok. This listing should state that it is not a private pool or private stay, as you share with the owners. Its really just uncomfortable. Our expectations were higher than the reality of our stay.

ANTS! A lot of stairs to get into the property be aware if you have mobility issues, the apartment was over run by ants, and didn't see ant traps anywhere, they were even on the beds. shower leaked and had to use bath towels to mop up, had to ask for the room to be serviced and was only done once in 7 days, kitchenette tap water flow was a trickle, ants in the sugar, not an air tight container. wifi only worked well in the bathroom.

The views were amazing, the owners were very accommodating and a great help with printing documents for our flight, local knowledge and changing a bulb(globe). Room was clean on arrival. pool on site, good size. Gecko friend in the apartment, no problem with him at all, kind of sweet. Cats and dogs were lovely and had cuddles. alarm system and clear instructions on how to use it and stay safe. water pressure in bath and shower was very good.

When we got there, there was no one to welcome us. We found a garden guy, who told us the owner went out. He showed us where we are staying and left. There were no curtains. We were very exposed. No mop,, when we request one, we were told they are not in town. The lady who was staying nextdoir, shouted at us, telling us we are not allowed to park in the yard but accommodation has parking accordingly to Booking.com. She even said people who book normally comes with one car. But that was never mentioned to us as to how many cars can we bring or we are allowed to bring. We had two cars so we basically had no clue where to park or cars. We came from different locations. We needed secure parking and not just park on the street. The lady was very rude, and did not want to understand that when we booked, parking was one of the things we needed.
