We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Zimbabweit was not suitable for a family with kids, they were parties everyday with youngsters which made it difficult for us to relax. When we got there they said booking.com didn't communicate with them so they didn't receive our booking and had to sleep in a room that we didn't book, a standard room while we had booked for a deluxe room.

South AfricaPictures and state of the courtyard and entrance were not like the photos. Units in pictures are very different to those on booking.com. Most units were filled with what I believe would have been locals partying and drinking all night.
Once inside the unit it was very neat and modern. Some strange decor and fittings but really nice.

Also, on the Booking.com site, it seems that the rooms are of differing size for the different rates, but they are all the same size - there is no very large room. The rooms were not very clean, and in our room, the curtains were falling off.
