Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was noise up to 1am in the morning. The shower rooms are not the best. Some taps were broken too.
Food was good. The night shift guy at the reception was excellent (sorry can’t remember his name)

ZambiaThe breakfast was good. The wine per glass at K60 per half glass was a bit overpriced
The room was very clean but the shower needs repair. The mixer for hot and cold doesn't work. It gives very hot water only.

JapanLots of mosquitoes in the room so I purchased anti-mosquito incense from market. That’s only thing, it’s not only room inside but everywhere
Good location and access from airport. I didn’t order but they provide airport free shuttle. Some of the comments mentioned OLD yes it is, rather to say CLASSIC. Very warm hospitality and service by all staffs so I felt like home during stays.

CanadaThe Wi-Fi was unreliable for the first day connecting, then disconnecting at random, , but seemed to become more stable. The quality of the restaurant food for the supper meal I would only rate 6/10, possibly due to an over ambitious menu, but there are many good restaurants in Livingstone and dining in-house is optional.
Possibly the best complement of hotel staff, without an exception, I have ever had at a hotel. Every encounter and request was met with efficiency, but most importantly with genuine warmth. While the hotel is older, and some may find decor dated, everything is perfectly maintained and was spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was very good.

TanzaniaFamily room was very good to spent our nights. It was one of the 1st oldest hotel in the Livingstone. Atleast we got to see the old type of decor and architectural design, in that way it was a museum. Transport to and from airport was free. Just need to inform the receptionist for assistance.

IrelandSure, the hotel is dated, as I mentioned. It's the oldest hotel in Zambia, but the staff and service make up for all of this.
The hotel is right in the centre of town so close to everything. It is also Zambias oldest hotel! The staff are INCREDIBLE!!! All of them!! They went out of their way to accommodate all questions and requests and went above and beyond to make my stay an absolute joy. A special shout out to Alan and Esther at reception and Saliyah in the restaurant, and Francis on the activities desk. But really, all of them. The food is good, but the scrambled eggs for breakfast are the best I've had. I was sad to leave this warm and welcoming hotel.

IndiaThe evening meal service and the sound from the in house night club ..ear plugs are strongly recommended!
Despite a bumpy start, the absolute commitment to customer service and hospitality from the Executive General Manager just won us over. It's the oldest hotel operating hotel in Livingstone and has a restaurant that serves all meals. The Breakfast service was par excellence and tue food was varied, hot and delicious! The evening staff tries to keep up but have some way to go. A noteworthy call out to Allan who did his best to rectify the niggles we faced during our stay and is an asset to the hotel. But once again the sheer investment in guest care shown by the EGM Subhashini is a gold standard for hospitality. She made our stay comfortable and memorable.
