We came with high expectations, since this stay was a bit of a splurge… and ended up in love with the perfect location, the sunny room, how connected it all felt to the metro and buses, as well as more secluded areas like Conde Duque, Pintor Rosales, Argüelles, and the fantastic Parks! You're staying "on" the Gran Vía (actually smack on Plaza de España), yet don't get the hustle and bustle of an actual stay on the super busy artery. Unbeatable! The whole hotel has a tongue-in-cheek, super smart interior design by none other than Spanish superstar Jaime Hayón, who went all-in and devised every single detail. A pleasure to live in! Full disclosure: because of a system slip on their side, the super accommodating staff offered us a major upgrade to one of the third-floor suites.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Many great sites to visit are a maximum 30 mins walk away. I had no trouble walking to Palacio Real, Museo del Prado and Retiro park. There were a couple of interesting smaller museums nearby as well. There are many, many good food and drink options right out front which seemed pretty popular with the locals. My driver from the airport actually raved about what a good location it was.
