We turned up earlier but our host (lynne) did not mind at all. I thought it was all very cosy from the breakfast room to the bar and then the bedroom. One good thing was the breakfast tick list. Basically, you pre-order your brekkie and time slot and.... tah dah. Our room was very clean and thank god there were biccies to go with the tea in the morning.

This hotel is peace and serenity all wrapped up in beautiful grounds and surroundings. We love staying here it’s so lovely, the breakfast is lovely fresh cooked and it’s quality produce. Nothing is too much trouble. The lady who served us breakfast today was so lovely and friendly. If I could live there I would that’s how lovely it is. It’s our go to place to unwind and relax. We were lucky to get an upgrade to a room with a balcony and it was so lovely. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for peace tranquility and cleanliness.

Every member of staff was phenomenal and worked hard to provide a great stay. Breakfast was delicious. Enjoyed a meal there as well. The restaurant is clearly popular on a Sunday. Room was all really clean. The setting is beautiful with rooms overlooking the river. So relaxing to just watch the water. Lovely smell of a log fire too in the bar. Easy to access other places. Genuinely thought it was phenomenal value.

So peaceful & relaxing. Lovely staff, and very comfortable rooms furnished to a high standard. Having discovered this hotel a couple of years ago we visit twice a year just for the 'get away from it all' feeling. The Abbey grounds and other facilities are great too, and the location is ideal for exploring South Devon & Dartmoor.

Our room was spotless and very comfortable. It was on the side of the hotel which was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and atmosphere relaxing. The breakfast was lovely, food hot and plenty of it. The Abbey is beautiful and gardens surrounding it are very nice. Highly recommend.

There is nothing we could ask for to improve our stays at Northgate House. The accommodation provides all we need and is exceptionally clean & comfortable. The staff are fantastic and the serenity of the location is unbeatable. For couples wanting a relaxing break away from the stresses of the modern world this really fits the bill! The buffet breakfast is lovely, and the evening meals are exceptional. We have been back several times in the last 2 years and will continue to do so as often as we can find an excuse to go there!
