Loved the locally produced luxury toiletries in the bathroom - even went and bought some to take home! Excellent breakfast with choice of cooked breakfasts. Varied evening menu in comfortable surroundings meant we ended up eating in every night. Liked the comfortable residents only lounge. Straight out of the front door for Easdale Tarn and Helm Crag walks or walks around Rydal and Grasmere lakes. The staff were lovely. Dinner was excellent. We were upgraded to a larger room - which was great and had a huge bathroom - with bath as well as shower, ideal to relax in after a long hike. We used the bath tub each evening- there’s room for two! So ideal for a romantic get away. Breakfast was amazing and we enjoyed a lovely walk into the mountains, excellent place to start your walks and come back to relax in the tub. Great breakfast choices and everything is cooked fresh to order aside from continental buffet which also had plenty of choice. Hotel is cosy and has a lounge area and other areas to relax in. Reception lady on arrival was absolutely lovely - made us feel welcome and is a very warm and approachable lady who sorted out a small issue either our rooms very quickly.
