I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ravenstone in the Lake District, and it was truly a delightful experience. The cozy atmosphere, coupled with the picturesque surroundings, made for a perfect getaway. The hotel's location allowed easy access to the beauty of the Lake District, making it a convenient base for adventures. The friendly staff contributes to the warm atmosphere, greeting guests with smiles and a passion for service. The rooms is clean, cozy and comfortable. The home made butter brings pure joy in every bite😄. Everything made my visit a delightful and memorable experience.

This was a lovely oasis of quiet and calm. The bed was so comfy and the room was spotless. It was our first break after lockdown and we had a fabulous weekend. It is much more personal being in a guest house than in a hotel. We parked the car and did not move it for the whole weekend. We walked everywhere on foot. Keswick is a lovely place but make sure you book early if you want a restaurant for an evening meal. We struggled and we went out of season. This has set the standard for our weekend breaks.

Host was understanding of our late arrival, which couldn’t be helped but had to be an inconvenience to him. Great to talk with Phillip about the surrounding areas, his photography and many other things. Highly recommend Hermiston guest house for anyone visiting the area.

The best B&B I’ve ever stayed in. A wonderful host, outstanding views from my room (No.7), all very clean, a common room with loads of extra info available about the Lake District, a very quiet but still central location. I couldn’t ask for any more, definitely will come back for longer!

Super friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts who chatted with us, gave us recommendations, helped with bus and boat timings etc and even information on transport for our departure. Great location, very quiet and peaceful despite being also a very short walk to town. Beautiful room with an insanely comfy bed, high standards of cleanliness and generally many thoughtful touches that you don’t always get in your accommodations when traveling. Many breakfast options and very filling, which is especially important when you’re about to go out for a day of physical activities. Tasted nice as well (especially the omelette, croissant, granola). We had a great time and would come back again if we were visiting this area again in future. Thank you so much James and Kate!

Very welcoming, thoughtful and accommodating staff. Great location and super tasty breakfast. From greeting us at the door to hugs at the end, Sue and Mick were nothing more than perfection. We stayed in room 1 which was pleasantly cool while we had a mini heatwave, also nice and quiet. A spacious room and ensuite, super comfy bed and lovely coffee and biscuits. The location is ideal for a short walk into Keswick but also hitting the road if you are going out of town. There was always a parking spot within a stones throw of their building. Sue and Mick were knowledgeable of the area and more than willing to help and there was a trove of maps and books to assist as well. Finally, a fantastic breakfast to get you started for the day, and plenty of other options if you're not a full English type, fruit and cake to take with you on in your travels too, great little touches.
