We were told our room had been upgraded and we could have our room straight away - awesome start to our 10year wedding anniversary - no we did not tell the hotel before or during our stay. Room was gorgeous. Very happy :-) when we checked out at 10am and was allowed to keep our bags at the hotel and collect before our train later on. Staff were so lovely. Can't wait to stay again. They said they had upgraded us to a canal view room, however, this was a double bed and I had booked a King Size Bed so would have preferred to stay in the same room as I had booked for the bigger bed. Breakfast was very very good, amazing selection and was all very good quality. We were greeted in the room with a lovely anniversary cake which was a lovely touch. If we’d booked a two/three star hotel we’d have been happy.. but when you pay for an upgrade and expect a four star, it was a little disappointing. Staff were excellent on check in Oana and Jake were very welcoming and friendly , amade us feel relaxed and at ease after a long journey. Oana dealt with our check in and as we were early she booked us in and actually gave us an upgrade to a superior room which was lovely of her. Lovely room, lovely comfortable bed & pillows, great shower and large towels.
