A pleasant place to stay for a visit to the caves. Restaurants are around and the entrance to the cave is around 300m away. It is a private building with a garden, B&B type. Not a lot to do in addition to the caves, but there is a bus going to the Castellana Grotte center or you can visit the nearby Alberobello. The hotel itself is located next to the Grotte di Castellana train stop, however at the time of our visit the railway was under reconstruction so we used replacement buses. The breakfast was good, and included home-made pie. The owner is very helpful, and we arranged transfer to Monopoli with him. Just have in mind that the staff English is not very good and knowing some Italian will be very helpful.

We enjoyed the romance of staying in a real trullo. Our hosts were generous and helpful, especially with helping us to arrange for transportation. our host arranged for a driver to and from Bari and also helped us to find a reasonable rental car for a day so we could explore on our own. Our hostess shuttled us to an excellent restaurant for dinner when we did not have a car. They also shared wine and cherries from their orchard with us.

The location is very good, close to all the main attractions in the area. The place is beautiful, with a nice garden. The pool is perfect. We had the simple room, which was good, comfortable bed, clean and with simple decoration. The bathroom was good and clean as well. The staff are very friendly and kind.
