We stayed 2 nights and they were able to switch us to a room with a private onsen on the first night, which was a great decision. Definitely book a room with onsen if possible (it also had fancier toilet and hair dryer than the room on the 2nd night). Although family onsen is also nice. The dinner and breakfast are amazing multi-course experiences that expose you to a full range of Japanese cuisine. You should be prepared/adventurous if you are not used to this cuisine (raw fish, squid, sea cucumbers, etc) but it’s very good.

Fantastic view of Lake Aisha and snow-covered Mount Fuji, with surrounding hills. Quiet, lovely setting. Very nice, separate thermal pools and saunas for women and men. Pretty rooms and building, with a helpful staff, make this a wonderful retreat within the Hakone hills.

The hotel was very nice. The staff very nice and helpfull. The two restaurants were very good too. Nice view of Mt Fuji when he does show up depending on weather.

Luxurious hotel surrounded by beautiful nature. Nice and helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Very convenient shuttle bus service. When we missed the last shuttle bus from Motohakone to the hotel, the staff kindly organised a car for us at no charge.
