Very spacious and clean room, huge balcony with nice views. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful with my questions. About a 5 min walk to a gorgeous beach. They have a private, gated parking lot, but there's lots of free public parking around the hotel. I went during low season so found a spot right in front of the hotel. There's a nice pool, but I only stayed 1 night so never used it. Guests can borrow towels for the pool from reception. My upgraded room also had a kitchenette with microwave, cooking utensils, and cutlery, which was useful. The room had a few minor cosmetic damages, but nothing that affected the functionality of the room. I liked that there was a small "library" shelf in the lobby with books in various languages. I really enjoyed my stay and wished I could've stayed longer.

This was our second stay at Pestana Dom Jao II and it was truly excellent. Breakfast was beautiful each morning and there was plenty of everything. The cleaners here do such a thorough job and and very polite and kind. All of the facilites are well maintained and the staff are very good at their job.

The location is great, close to old Alvor town. Rooms and Pool are clean. Breakfast great. But the standout part is the staff. very helpful. We had a terrible experience in a boat trip to Benagil caves and were thoroughly soaked The staff allowed us to use our old room that hadn’t yet been cleaned. so grateful to them for their kindness and attention to customers.
