Staff was great with dining suggestions and were able to freeze ice packs for us for our trip out the day we departed.

The pool was gorgeous, and the pool bar, food, drink, and staff were excellent. The grounds were amazing, it was like staying in a museum. The restaurants were delightful, the food delicious. The price for all these outstanding grounds, the room and accommodating service was incredible.

This property is located in the countryside on a 5-minute drive out of Évora, one of Portugal’s most historic cities and the famed Roman Temple.

The place, managed by the once Dutch couple, gave us immediately an homely feeling while we admire the attention to details in the house and fabulous garden. The farm atmosphere is all over with a classical and romantic vibes. We loved the place.

Set in a refurbished traditional Alentejo house is 1.9 mi from Évora. Accommodations at Governador are bright and come with views of the surrounding country landscape.

Fantastic place for a peaceful getaway in picturesque rural surroundings! The hotel and rooms are charming, cozy and sparkling clean, and all the facilities and pools are well taken care of. Staff is exceptional, everyone we met was very helpful, hospitable and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The food was one of the many highlights for sure, our dinner at the hotel was a delight, and we greatly appreciated the staff coming in earlier the day of our check out so that we could have breakfast before early flight home (and it was freshly baked croissants, what a treat!). All in all, we absolutely loved our stay at A Casa do Governador, and will be happy to come back!

Clean, spacious with air conditioning. Lovely bathroom with soap dispensers for sink and shower, nice aroma from soap, great water pressure. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was a nice treat and we met some lovely people from Spain. The only issue we had was having the wrong code sent to us and not updated, was not clear that we had to go next door ( ale house) to finish the paperwork before going in. Loved our one night stay .
