Enjoying a privileged location in natural surroundings above Zurich, next to the cog railway station, The Dolder Grand - City and Spa Resort Zurich offers a 4,000 m² spa, 4 award-winning restaurants,... This is a beautifully designed hotel featuring very modernly furnished rooms with exceptionally comfortable beds. We particularly enjoyed the great balcony that overlooked the lake. The indoor pool was a lovely amenity, although a touch cool for spring swimming. The outdoor jacuzzi, however, was excellent. Breakfast was a definite highlight, offering a wide and impressive variety of both cold and hot dishes, including some interesting special menu items. We also had a great dinner experience at the Saltz restaurant. A special mention must go to the concierge, who was incredibly helpful in securing tickets for the chocolate museum tour for us, even after we found it fully booked online.

The Marktgasse Hotel is a historic building with low ceilings and sloped floors (not all rooms). Nice one person room, had everything it needed. Location downtown is great. Staff was fantastic, I was helped by an intern, and she did a great job: helpful, accurate and friendly. When I had left I apparently had left a charging cable behind. I got a message about it, in case I wanted it back. Very Swiss ;-) Will go back there for sure!
