Hospes Palacio de Arenales dates back to the 17th century and was formally the holiday residence of a noble family. This 5-star hotel offers a wellness centre and spa. Beautiful rooms, very large pool with gorgeous landscaping. Helpful, friendly staff who were tolerant of our poor Spanish and spoke English to us without making it feel like an inconvenience. Stayed with our two kids they loved the pool and the grounds. Close to town. 10/10 recommend!

Located in a quiet and pretty residential area of Cáceres, this elegant hotel offers free Wi-Fi and chic rooms. The outdoor pool is set within gardens. We liked the beds and the pillows, the swimming pool with enough sunbeds for everybody. It is clean, close to restaurants and shops. Ideal when you travel by car.

Housed in a former convent, built in the 15th century, the Parador de Plasencia hotel has kept its stunning, original architecture, including spacious hallways, archways and courtyards. As with many paradors, it is in an incredible historical building. Our room was lovely and quiet and we enjoyed having drinks in the small bar and had a superb lunch in the restaurant. Very good off-season rate as well.

Boasting an open-air bath, barbecue facilities and views of lake, Hotel Rural La Covacha is situated in Losar de la Vera, 15 km from Monasterio de Yuste. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh the lady even cooking us omelette one day then egg and bacon another .The whole hotel very clean very comfortable beds and fridge that actually got drinks very cold which is a first for us in over thirty years traveling Spain wonderful.plenty of lovely places to visit .Recommend this hotel very highly so much going back for another 5 days on return journey.

Offering city views, El Mirador de las Monjas is an accommodation situated in Trujillo, 200 metres from Plaza Mayor and 45 km from Santa María Church-Procathedral. Extremely good place of good value and nice hosts. Great location. Nice breakfast.

Dating from 1922, Hotel Rural Duende Del Chafaril is a beautiful hotel set in San Martin de Trevejo. It features a spa, sauna, seasonal outdoor pool, a restaurant and garden. Hotel is beautiful and a lovely location. Room was very basic, no phone to ring reception, no glasses for the number of people in the room, no teas or coffee offering in the room. The spa facilities are poor, the only good thing was the jacuzzi. Steam room was cold, tile were freezing so you could not seat there. Ice fountain did not have the usual ice, so they just put ice cube manually there per session. Overall I found this hotel expensive for what they offer
