We could not figure out how to get the heat going and she sent some one up to help us. Beautiful hike down from the mountain the next morning.

The home-made breakfast was lovely. Santi's orange marmalade was delicious, and his insights into local culture and personalities was very enthusiastic and well-informed. The location of the Casa was perfect, on a quiet street right in the centre of the village, just a step away from the main square. We can heartily recommend the Restaurante Espana, a welcoming family-run place just 3 doors up the street.

This family-run guest house is situated in the centre of Puebla de Sanabria, 300 metres from the Castle and the Old Town. It offers free Wi-Fi and heated rooms with a flat-screen TV. Exceptional room, bed, pillows, service and breakfast. We were given an early check-in and we were able to help ourselves to hot drinks out of hours in the cafeteria. the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful.

Housed in a beautifully restored 12th-century royal castle, the hotel’s Renaissance-style architecture, highlighted by the stunning Torre del Caracol with its Mudejar ceiling, exudes historic charm. The setting in the Jardines de la Mota, with sweeping views of the Tera and Órbigo valleys, added to the enchanting atmosphere. Our room was impressively spacious, blending antique-style furnishings with modern comforts like free WiFi and a pristine bathroom. The large, comfortable bed ensured a restful night. The outdoor pool, surrounded by lovely gardens, was a stunning highlight, perfect for a relaxing dip, though we didn’t have time to fully enjoy it. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was a standout, featuring delicious traditional Zamora dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. The extremely friendly staff elevated the experience, offering warm and attentive service that made us feel truly welcomed. Though brief, our stay at Parador de Benavente was flawless, combining historic elegance, modern comforts, and outstanding hospitality. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!!
