It was also the location of one of the most famous incidents (the "flag incident") on Indonesia's path to independency, so you will literally have a comfortable room in the middle of historical reminders. Its tranquil and lush gardens surrounded by the majestic hotel wings - and the occasional flying fox gliding through the vast open hotel corridors at night - have immense beauty. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there, also thanks to the very friendly personnel. Several nights before I had a room in another high-class hotel down the same street on the 20th floor, but the noise from Surabaya's busy streets there was considerable, whereas in the Majapahit it was comfortably quiet at night. I hope that this amazing hotel and historical monument will be kept as well as it is right now for a long future, and I will happily stay there again next time in Surabaya.

The pool was lovely to relax by in the afternoon.

From check in to check out it was a wonderful experience, and we do not believe it can get any better than this. Staff is highly competent, the rooms and the whole building are just stunningly beautiful, and if you want to see more, explore the outside... there is so much to see. We especially liked the afternoon tea, where you could sit at the rooftop bar and completely unwind. But we also enjoyed the food and drinks in the restaurant, the view from our balcony, the spa and gym...We already dream of coming back here one day!

Outdoor play equipment is also available at Blue Garden Yogyakarta, while guests can also relax in the garden. It is out in a rural area well outside the city. Very peaceful and relaxing. Room was super clean and air conditioned with a large bathroom ( no a/c) and mini bar. ( Beer and cokes only) It has a small but good restaurant ( reserve meals in advance) and a lovely garden and pool. Looks out on rice fields with birds and nature all around. It is close.to a mosque and you can definitely hear the call to prayer. It added to the atmosphere for us and they turn down the loudspeaker for the 4am call to prayer!. You can borrow the bikes and ride through the working rice fields leased from the sultan. You certainly get to see authentic rural Javanese life but its not for those who want any kind of nightlife! Beer available but no wine, so bring your own if you want to relax over a glass while getting your authenticity!

Some rooms feature a seating area to relax with views of the city. The private bathroom comes with hot and cold shower. After looking for a nice hotel for a good price to start our honeymoon excursion we landed on the four points Sheraton. After booking I put a small note that it was our honeymoon and almost jokingly asked for a room high up ( who doesn’t love a city view) they responded promptly and said if possible they would do what they can. From the second we stepped in the service was awesome. When checking in the front desk agent said I see you guys are here for your honeymoon, which I thought was cool because who actually reads the hotel requests. After getting our keys I noticed they put us on the second to the top floor! We walked into what was immaculate room- my wife went right over to the window to look at the city and almost missed that they set us up with a beautiful dessert with happy honeymoon written on it! What a wonderful way to start our trip! Went down to the bar for some killer cocktails and had a great dinner too. We were only staying there one night as a quick stop before staring out trip- but I woulda stayed there for a week!

The staff was incredibly friendly, they let us check in early, I had told them when I booked that it was my sister's birthday, when we arrived to the room they had personalized "Happy Birthday" greetings written on the window, and a delicious chocolate cake set out with card. Restaurant was very good, we got spa treatments which were wonderful! Pool area is beautiful. Room was large, huge bathroom and very comfortable beds!

Charming set of small houses with a nice courtyard in the middle for meeting people. It was also possible make your own coffee, etc. It also had a nice pool in the sun which I enjoyed using (but wasn't much used by other guests). Everything in the house worked well, from the air-conditioning to the open shower. Breakfast (available for 35K) was quite nice. Staff arranged to have us taken to the train station, 700 meters away, by car for free, which we appreciated given our suitcases.
