Located in Matsuyama within less than 1 km of Joshin-ji Temple and a 14-minute walk of Matsuyama Shrine, Cinnamon Guesthouse Dogo provides rooms with free WiFi. Excellent location in the Dogo Onsen area, easily reachable by public transport. Easy to wander around the onsen village morning and night. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The dorms and facilities were clean, and I had a very comfortable stay here for 3 nights. There was an air humidifier in the dorm to combat the seasonal dry air. I found it easy to reach other sights by walking as well, such as Matsuyama castle and Ishiteji temple.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind, and I was so relieved that they spoke excellent English, which made check-in and asking for recommendations a breeze. Every interaction was a pleasure. The real highlights for me were the amenities. The spa is absolutely amazing – so relaxing and luxurious, it was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring Matsuyama. Waking up to the beautiful views from my room was incredible, and the breakfast spread was equally amazing. There was such a wide variety of delicious options, and it was the best start to my day. It was very light. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It truly made my trip special, and I will absolutely be staying here again on my next visit to Japan. Thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful experience!

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Matsuyama offers accommodation in Matsuyama near Matsuyama castle and Botchan Train Museum. This is my first time going to Matsuyama. I do know about Daiwa Roynet but never stayed in one. I was glad I did so as the room was big and spacious. As I arrived late at night, I did not know the surrounding areas. In the morning, when I ventured out, I was surprised it was so close to Matsuyama Castle. Room-wise, it had all the necessary amenities and big enough for me. The restaurant staff were cheerful and polite.

Set in Uwajima, less than 1 km from Taga Shrine, JR Hotel Clement Uwajima offers accommodation with free bikes, private parking and a restaurant. A very good hotel in a really nice city. Had all the comforts to make the stay a great one. Great local seafood close by.

Very nice old building with a lot of cool art. Great location very close to the Dougo-onsen. Tasty breakfast with seasonal ingredients.

Featuring a hot spring bath with views of the mountains, Chaharu is located a 2-minute walk from the Dogo Onsen Honkan Hot Springs Spa. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. The night view from our room and from the outdoor bath was spectacular. We forgot two items at the hotel, and the staff looked diligently to find them and mail them to us. There were no non-smoking rooms to reserve, but the staff had made sure that there was no odor in our room. The shuttle service was exceptional.

Boasting a 390-year history, Funaya offers hot-spring baths, a beautiful Japanese garden and a sauna. We had the junior suite with an amazing view of the city and the Matsuyama Castle. Our room was top notch with living room, bar area and separate bedroom. We loved it! The staff was efficient, polite and very professional. the location was perfect, just a walk down the hill to the famous Dogo onsen shopping arcade and train to castle.
