Great place to stay in Dogo Onsen. Staff was very friendly. Room was spacious and enjoyed the view of the stage. Breakfast was excellent and the onsen felt magnificent.

The guesthouse is literally 1 minute away from the famous Dogo Onsen and 5 minutes from transportation. Lots of shops, restaurants and sightseeing around. The guesthouse and the rooms are super clean just as the bathrooms. You have a big common area downstairs with free teas, coffee and cookies. You can also buy for a very cheap price cup noodles if you’re feeling lazy to go out. You also get free body soap and shampoo to enjoy the onsen! But the best part of the stay was Shumpei. He speaks very good English and he goes all the way out to make your stay the best possible. He helped me to get the tickets for the best baseball match I’ve ever seen.

Boasting a 390-year history, Funaya offers hot-spring baths, a beautiful Japanese garden and a sauna. We had the junior suite with an amazing view of the city and the Matsuyama Castle. Our room was top notch with living room, bar area and separate bedroom. We loved it! The staff was efficient, polite and very professional. the location was perfect, just a walk down the hill to the famous Dogo onsen shopping arcade and train to castle.
