What truly makes this place special is his amazing project to rescue stray dogs and cats, especially females. You’ll find many sweet animals around the property, and for us, that was the best part. It’s clear how proud Prashant is of what he’s doing, and we were proud to support him too. The guesthouse is just a 5-minute walk from the beach and about 15 minutes from Trincomalee—super convenient. The shower had hot water with great pressure, the room was clean, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. What else can I say? If you love animals, this is the place for you. Right next door you’ll find Mom’s Kitchen, their family restaurant—probably the best and most affordable food in Uppuveli. Don’t miss the Rice & Curry buffet!

Dinners were lovely too. We recommend this boutique hotel if you are looking for quiet, serene, chill beauty. Loved the sweetest doggies and cats.

That was great as you can enjoy the beach and it’s “chaos”, then retreat into serenity to watch the crows or wait for the monkey procession. Nice that there are many local eateries in one direction and the touristic beach food and activities the other direction.

Very cool place, the cabanas are very well equipped with aircon, kettle, fridge and hot showers. They have plenty of room and proper mattresses with quality sheets etc so very comfortable and outside each one is a seating area. They are located a few hundred metres from the beach in a very interesting area. Half the properties are similar holiday based and the others are residential giving it a true Sri Lankan vibe. The town was very quiet during of visit as it the off season (peak is April-Oct) so many hotels and restaurants are closed but there are sufficient open to enjoy.

Cardamon Hotel Nilaveli se nachází v letovisku Nilaveli, 12 km od města Trincomalee. by far, best choice to stay in Nilaveli/Trincomalee. hotel in front of ocean with clean pool (maintained and cleaned daily, several times). large clean and comfy rooms. we are family of three and had lots of space in duplex room. A/C is new and fully filled, so blasting cool air within seconds of switching on.(so far stayed in several hotels in Sri Lanka, and some A/c were literally non existent, even in much more expensive 5 star hotels) staff is attentive, some minor misunderstandings are swiftly resolved by hotel manager. housekeeping team does amazing job, daily clean/fresh water replenishing. hotel grounds are well maintained. good options for dinner. beach is clean, with enough loungers. we wanted candles for cake- hotel provided some changes in breakfast offer for out 3 year old- team made changes overall, it’s EXCELLENT VALUE and after visiting few other hotels in area, this is BEST CHOICE.
