Spectacular traditional Romani property, with gated parking for the motorcycle. The owner lives in a separate house within the property, and has paid all attention to details. Wherever you look there is something interesting to look in display, like visiting a museum of Romani artefacts, really interesting! The garden was manicured and everything was immaculate clean. The owner receives you with a great smile and friendliness, as some host receiving you at their own home. There is a small shop at fe2 meters to buy groceries, and you can cook your meals at the kitchen reserved for the visitors. There is also a fantastic restaurant a couple of miles away, where you can have fresh trouts or other delicious Romani food, or a great steak (ask for medium rare, if you do not like well done!)

Great location to start the transfagarasan route, hosts are really friendly. Gave me tips about the route, made an amazing dinner. This was my first night in Romania and I felt so welcome!

In a quiet and scenic location at 1,200 metres above sea level, Hotel-Restaurant Siesta Balea is located in Piscul Negru on the Transfagarasan National Road. I saw Google photos prior to arriving and was a bit worried and made the wrong choice - it looked very worn out. In reality, the photos on Booking were more accurate than Google. The room was spacious, in good condition and smelt heavenly. Thermostatic heaters kept us warm at night. The restaurant was simple but good.

The location is perfect, 30 min from Balea Cascade. The view from the appartment and from the restorant is amazing. The breakfast is very good. We also had lunch in the restorant - it was delicious. The staf is very friendly and helpful. We will definitly come back!
