SingaporeThe hospitality was amazing, when we arrived our bags were taken for us and we were led to the lounge where the attendant helped check us in there were free drinks and small snacks available as well. The room was spacious and the view of the coast was great.
Though we spoke limited Japanese the staff was helpful and there were English instructions available. The dinner service and breakfast included were amazing too.

United StatesThis is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!).
Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable.
As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area.
Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

I got injured before coming here sp the location is a bit far away from things, but very close to the station (2 minutes?). Were able to reserve the onsen downstairs on both nights at a chosen time, and at one stage we had a short onsen in upstairs one (not reserved). Basic in room facility with own toilet and basin (cold water). Make sure you have any showering or bathing done before 8.30am or after lunch time, otherwise you’ll be sponge bathing in morning in the room, with cold water. Really comfortable beds. The staff was also very helpful when explaining things to me. As well, the room had a very Japanese style, and the yukata provided was very cute! She was very nice to us for the whole stay. We stayed in the tatami mat room. The mats were new and felt luxurious. The futon s were so comfortable we almost decide to no show a different hotel so we could stay at Iroha longer. The bathroom was clean and relaxing to use.
