I'll keep it short to not waste time: Breakfast is amazing, I recommend the one time "Japanese Style Breakfast", it's an additional Fee and 100% worth it if you want a traditional breakfast (Not sure if it's seasonal, as it was offered to me via mail a couple days prior to arriving) Location is great, you can take busses and trains fairly quick towards Nara, Sannenzaka, Fushimi Inari and the Kyoto main station is just a 10-15 minute walk Price: for 2 people, worth every penny Language: I would recommend to everyone coming to Japan to learn a bit of Japanese, but if you refuse to do so, their English is very good! 10/10 I would come back The picture is the Japanese breakfast, the pictures from the property themselves represent everything very accurately, no need for me to add to that.

Fantastic service from start to finish. From the check in process, to the check out, the staff always made sure you were comfortable and had what you needed. The location is easy to get to and the rooms themselves are stunning. A big selling point of course was the private bath, but a pleasant surprise was their restaurant. My booking included breakfast and a Wagyu course dinner and both were delicious and very satisfying. For a one night splurge, I highly recommend this hotel.

When arriving, they receive you with tea and macaroons and show you to your room. Although they did not speak much english, the staff was really nice and eager to help. The room was wonderful with a great view to the garden, really peaceful, clean and with everything you could need. Also they give tea and cookies in the room. We only stayed for a night and left early in the morning so we did not have a chance to try the breakfast nor the public bathroom. When leaving, the hotel informed us that they could book a taxi for us, for free, to wherever we wanted to go. In our case, we went to a temple 2/3 kms away, so it saved us a lot of walking. Also we got the chance to experience the japanese taxis which were a lot fancier than we though! Although the ryokan is far away from the city center, it is located near a lot of temples.

This modern ryokan is charming. Beautiful interior design (with a corridor that mimicks Fushimi Inari's gates) and great facilities. The room with tatami and futon was great - clean and comfortable. The hotel also has a private hot bath.
The breakfast was delicious and the private onsen was very nice. The futon was also very comfortable. The staff could also speak great English and were friendly. Watch out for the curfew though, this isn't a negative but a warning for people who want to stay out past midnight, just know that there is a 1200 am curfew, meaning that you cannot enter or leave the ryokan past that time.
traditional tatami room with futon, welcome tea with sweets, Japanese Yukata, small Japanese courtyard, free onsen, happy-hour tea and snacks, and friendly staffs
The onsen baths were absolutely incredible and the yukata provided by the ryokan was a really nice way to get the full experience! Also the Japanese style breakfast was amazing and served with so much love and care
Location was near one of the temples, so you will have a great night view while walking around. It is accessible by JR Kyoto or nearby subway station, so generally quite accessible. Service and Check in procedure was great, staff were extremely friendly. The room matched the expectations that I had of a traditional ryokan room, and the futon on the floor was extremely comfortable so much so that I had to called by the staff to wake up for the breakfast I had booked. I wanted to try the onsen, but I didn't know that it had to be booked.
This was a wonderful Ryokan with friendly staff. 10 minutes walk to a main street with lots of food options and 15-20 minutes walk from Gion. Close coffee shops and 7-11. They gave us a helpful map on arrival. We stayed in a family room and the kids loved the tatami mat room with futons. We all slept very well! Check out was 11 which was great and hey were happy o call us a cab to the station. Would recommend!
Location was excellent! It's situated right next to Kamo River which was just so beautiful and there is a park that stretches alongside it. The ryokan itself is also very nicely done with a zen garden. The onsen was wonderful and well equipped. It had a hot spring feel to it. The kaiseki breakfast was top notch. Special mention goes to the milk which is really tasty. Room was great. It was big and spacious and the window view of the river and the trees just mesmerizes you.
Very hospitable little ryokan in a perfect location, close to a lot of the tourist hotspots and temples in the heart of the Geisha district. The rooms are traditional Japanese rooms with tatami floors. Ours shared a bathroom. We were also given kimonos to wear while at the hotel which was nice. The hotel has 2x indoor onsens which can be reserved privately at no cost (good for couples). The staff (although spoke little English) were very friendly and helpful with recommendations.
traditional Japanese ryokan with tatami and futons public bath was excellent
