The surrounding area was beautiful and serene! The property has everything you need and our room was well appointed. We were giving every toiletry imaginable and some very nice skincare products were available in our room and at the public onsens. The property had 3 restaurants from which we had our meals (which were amazing!!) and the lobby had free espresso in a beautiful area overlooking the river that runs directly next to the property. The food was fresh and we had locally caught fish and locally foraged mushrooms in a soup that was out of this world! The staff were very attentive and generous with their time and energy. Massage was offered onsite and the providers came to our room!

Wonderful staff with an attention to customer service. The room exceeded our expectations and the private onsen in the room was lovely. I loved everything. From the moment we arrived the staff treated us very nicely and politely explained everything about the property. They provide yukatas, bathing suits and slippers, so you get to experience the whole traditional japan. Dinner and breakfast are simply amazing, lots of courses and everything tasted delicious. While you’re having dinner, they set up your futons so you have the bed ready when you return to your room. The outside onsen is wonderful. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough, just a 10/10

This onsen was a lot bigger and busier than we thought it would be. They don't show it in the pictures but it is quite a large resort with multiple buildings and even though we went in the "off season" there were still a lot of people around. This isn't necessarily a negative thing - it is just that we thought we were going to a secluded little ryokan in the mountains and there ended up being a more other tourists there than we anticipated. The food and onsen were still really good, and the service was great as well.

Rooms in traditional Japanese style. You can select a Yukata design when checking in. The staff were very nice and personable, and the dinner with several courses was delicious. The outdoor onsen are beautiful, and you can use them until midnight. It was a great experience and one of the nicest things we did in Japan.

The onsen was amazing! Different temperatures to move between and one very warm spot, nice! Beautiful surrounding, like an anime fairytale! Pretty yukatas! Nice room with good view and warm tatami floor! The futon was warm and the blanket super fluffy!! The gift shop clerk was so nice and helpful, helped me to buy the right size yukata and color! Simple explanation from station to shuttlebus by photos and also good detailed explanation of facility at check-in.

We stayed for total of 2 nights in this beautiful Ryokan in Minakami, food was elaborately prepared and beautiful. the 2 onsen baths available were well maintained and comfortable. In terms of hospitality, the staff were especially accommodating - they even ferried us to local train station from door to door. futon beds were thick and comfortable, amenities were also plentiful and they were more than willing to provide extra at your request. One of the most value for money experiences :)
