From the design, location to staff and service. It's a remarkable place with a lovely and positive soul. There is love in every detail of the house and service. Our host was fun and easy to talk to and he really took his time to make us feel at home and talk about Japan and Japanese culture. Something we appreciated. The food was also amazing. Local and traditional. Prepared with the same love and attention. The location also offered a small coffee place which serves excellent coffee. The only reason we where hestistating to score it a 10 is because perhaps people would distrust our enthusiasm. things can't be a 10 can they? Well they can. It's a great place... go and visit.

I loved our stay here!! The highlight of our Japan trip. The staff were all really friendly especially Taguchi san and the food was amazing! We were served a different menu for our second night, too. The private onsen bath overlooking dogo onsen was lovely. And the yukatas were cute!
A fantastic ryokan right next to Dogo Onsen. One of the best breakfasts I've had in Japan (that's saying something), and a wonderful host in Hisa. 100% recommend staying here.

Dogo Yaya is exceptional as a mid- range hotel and deserves the many industry awards it has received. Staff are most welcoming and helpful in explaining the accommodation facilities and inclusions (morning breakfast and evening sea bream rice), also the discount ticketing for the three Dogo Onsen baths, available through the hotel, and complementary yukata, geta, towels, soap, etc. All has been considered for guests to have a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The most good part of this hotel is those staff. All of them were so kind. They made my stay as best as they could assist. Also, location, right next to Dogo onsen(I didn't use there, yamatoya's hot spring was amazing), if you go down, shopping street is there. Old Japanese style wooden structure is beautiful.
Positives - nice room. Very clean. Onsen hot springs is beautiful, the outdoor bath is very relaxing and the whole area was always very clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Very good location for shopping, bars and restaurants and the tram line.
Tatami room with private bathroom. Close to the Dogo Onsen. Comfortable tatami bed. Good location. But I have left two jackets in the wardrobe and hope the hotel can contact me and help to return.
it was located right next to the shopping arcade and other nearby onsens. Very convenient. They also provide yukatas and Japanese slippers so you can wear it out at night for a walk around.
