A opportunity to get a closer look at Japanese culture. Please go you won’t be disappointed.

This 4-star ryokan offers a 24-hour front desk and full-day security. Guests have access to a hot spring bath, spa facilities and beauty services. I could possibly write an essay on the level of detail and attentiveness from the staff, which made this already wonderful location an incredible place to stay. From before our arrival, we had some concerns regarding finding our way to Seiryuan as we were unfamiliar with the area, and knew it was a tad more remote than all other locations we had visited. I attempted to reach out via Booking and Instagram, receiving a reply via Instagram that went above and beyond expectations. Yukari Hiraki verified how we were arriving (train/trolley) and which station, after which she provided detailed steps, screenshots, and cost estimates of our options (bus / taxi) and from where to pick them up. This allowed us to arrive at Seiryuan with significant confidence. As we were arriving, a staff member received us outside which surprised us. We had not yet arrived to their main entrance, and this is a very remote area where we saw no one else nearby during our final walk to Seiryuan. I suspect they have a very well placed camera in the approaching street to identify guests as his presence there felt quite magical. Every hospitality standard we had previously was shattered from the attentive check-in, room accompaniment, offering of tea/ appetizers and scheduling our dinner time. During dinner, which takes place in an ample private area with a lovely view of the pond/ garden, our waiter Sakurai was the utmost example of excellence. His attention to detail, knowing when to offer additional information about the dinner, when we were deep in conversation he was incredibly respectful. All of this while in English which he was able to communicate very effectively intricate details regarding the dinner. When we returned to our rooms the beds were made and we enjoyed the private onsen. Breakfast was also delicious and the check-out experience was also flawless.
