Every unit includes a coffee machine, while selected rooms come with a fully equipped kitchenette with a microwave, a stovetop and kitchenware. At the ryokan, each unit has bed linen and towels. The property was beautiful. Traditional Japanese style housing with stunning gardens, a stream with bamboo forest, Koi pond, and some modern touches for comfort. The owners went above and beyond in every way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. After a week, they began to feel like family. The breakfast and dinners they serve are seared into my brain because they are just so good…and eating while gazing out into the garden was such a zen moment. We’re sure to never forget this stay and I look forward to returning.

The open-air hot-spring bath at Fudoguchikan is available 24 hours, and separate per gender. The ryokan also houses a lounge, a shop and drinks vending machines. Oh and the service and food were excellent.
Kawachinagano
Featuring a large Japanese garden and natural hot-spring baths, Nanten-En Ryokan offers traditional luxury in a beautiful natural setting. The air-conditioned rooms have tatami flooring and Japanese-style futon beds. This is one of the best places I've stayed in Japan. Its situated in a quiet region, really close to the train station. Its a good option if you want to wind down a bit. The amenities, service and included meal were amazing. There are a few things to do in the surrounding area, but if you want a bit more, you can just take a train to Osaka (these come at an approx. 20 mins interval). I would definitely chose it again for the next trip.
Ibaraki
The units come with air conditioning, an oven, a microwave, a coffee machine, a bidet, slippers and a desk. Each unit comes with a safety deposit box and free WiFi, while certain rooms will provide you with a terrace. At the ryokan, units are equipped with bed linen and towels. The breakfast was delicious and the host was excellent! She was so attentive, welcoming and helpful. The house was BEAUTIFUL and the room was so clean and cosy.

Minami, Osaka
Ideally situated in Osaka, 旅館竹のや 貸切サウナ風呂 "道頓堀5分"なんば10分" features a continental breakfast and free WiFi. This 5-star ryokan offers a spa experience, with its sauna and hot tub. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, full-day security and luggage storage for guests. Wow what a great place to stay! It was an incredibly convenient location and a super nice room. The highlight of the place was definitely the staff though. I've never stayed anywhere that had such kind and helpful employees. They would go out of their way constantly to make sure our stay was perfect. The washer/dryer wasn't working in our room one day and they offered to wash the laundry for us! They really made the place feel like a home away from home and I'd definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Osaka

Offering free private parking, the 3-star ryokan is 11 km from Niiya Shrine. The accommodation offers a lift, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. The staff were very friendly. The location was beautiful. It was in a remote area, but the mountain it was on top and the vegetation around made it well worth it. Also, the security when it comes to accessing the building was great. There is a shuttle service that takes you to the nearest station, which was very helpful. There was a curfew around 10 or 11 PM but you can inform the people at the reception if you’re gonna be later than that and they can keep the doors open until you come and then they can close it. Overall, the state was exceptional, and we enjoyed every minute.
Dotonbori, Osaka

Universal Studios Japan is a 20-minute drive away and Osaka Castle is a 30-minute train ride away. Perfect location. It is literally located in the heart of Dotonbori. It is a minute away from the most famous restaurants and top attractions of Dotonbari. Also, I very liked their small onsen and sauna. The hotel gives you a mystic vibe with its old-fashioned designs and equipments.

Super welcome from the staff, including a detailed introduction to the ryokan and how to conduct yourself (delivered in a professional and welcoming manner). Amazing ryokan and relaxing onsen. Highly recommend. Serene surroundings of the beautiful garden and pond. Truly idyllic. Thoughtfully tailored vegan kaiseki for my partner. Taste didn’t 100% hit the mark (see below sole negative comment), but we couldn’t fault the effort that had gone into the meal. Great breakfast. Unique experience (breakfast in a yukata).
I loved the general vibe of the staff and the home was beautiful! It’s a welcoming environment and provides a more authentic cultural experience, being able to sleep on tatami and futons! Also there is a cafe and bar downstairs that serves great drinks!
Nice price for private room even if it's just tatami with futon and fan, I liked it!
A modernized ryokan which doesn't feel neither pandering nor too reinvented. We had a great time in the onsen facility, and at the end of the day we wished we had a couple of nights more to unwind here. Exploring the hotel in the complimentary indoor clothes felt like a long, big hug.
The location is good, close to several subway lines and two railway stations. The Onyado Nono formula combines modern hotel facilities with traditional ryokan elements in a good way, which makes it a comfortable place for older travellers. The breakfast is great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of toiletries, cool pyjamas. More comfy than yukata.
Perfect location, very central and few minutes walk from the metro station. Sleeping in a ryokan is a great adventure, and the futon beds were very comfortable! Breakfast was nice as well, recommended if you would like to try the whole experience. They kept our luggage in the morning and we found them carried in our room when we checked in later in the afternoon.
Of course the onsen, but also the breakfast room, which looked very friendly and open. The breakfast itself was very good as well, especially nice as it was a traditional breakfast - as well as traditionally served. The room was nice, but of course traditionally small as a Japanese room with futons. We got exactly what we expected as a "typical Japan experience"
Absolutely lovely stay in an authentic ryokan. The welcome treats, yukata (bathrobe), and bath slippers provided were sweet, homey touches. The in-house onsen was a great way to end a long day and unwind.
