Comfortable beds/futon. Had fun with wearing yukatas in the premises, also for dinner and breakfast. Lovely traditional multi course dinner! Simple nutritious breakfast as well. We had a party with a nut allergy and they took it seriously with substitutions for some items on the dinner menu. Our private onsen in the room was great as well, perfect temperature with a nice little view of Lake biwako. Some of us also enjoyed the public bath. All staff were amazing, from the receptionist, to the waitresses and the driver. All of us felt we were very well taken care of despite only staying one night.

This recently renovated ryokan is located 10 km from Green Park Santo and 27 km from Taga-taisha Shrine. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. Our room was wonderful. The amenities were thoughtful and high quality. The host was extremely friendly and treated us to a tour of beautiful Nagahama.

This 2-star ryokan offers a shared lounge. The ryokan features family rooms. The staff went above & beyond to accommodate me. Can't rate this 180 year old property, that's been preserved & meticulously revamped into a delightful stay. 😀

Only a 5-minute drive from JR Ogoto Onsen Station with the complimentary shuttle, hotel Yuzanso features Japanese-style rooms with a private open-air hot spring bath and spectacular views of Biwako Lake. The hotel also offers massage treatments and a sauna. JR Ogoto Onsen Station offers a direct transit in 20 minutes to Kyoto Station. Great get away to relax and unwind. Hot springs, private and public were fantastic. Only reserved breakfast and the food was excellent. Room was very large looking out to lake Biwa. Hotel staff were very helpful and informative. The free shuttle to and from the hotel was also a plus.

Guests at the ryokan will be able to enjoy activities in and around Takashima, like fishing. The place is a little bit odd yes, but it’s a wonderful example of a traditional Japanese hospitality (even if the building doesn’t look traditional… but 70s) the hot bath was one of the best I ever had in Japan and the food was incredible. And I paid only 8250 yen for a half course stay (1 person). And the owner did his best to explain everything (with a digital language translator).
