The inn was so beautiful and many wonderful qualities. It's location is in the middle of a lively street full of shops and restaurants and a close (though uphill) walk to a temple. The in-room amenities were wonderful: whole coffee beans, a grinder, a coffee pot and cups, a separate teapot and teacups, pajamas, robes, and any necessary toiletries. The provided breakfast and dinner was delicious, traditional Japanese fare with English menus to explain the nightly courses (though I'd still suggest having a translator app). Last, but certainly not least: the baths were incredible. I appreciate that the private baths did not need a reservation and were all themed differently. So relaxing!! All my worries melted away here.

Very nice ryokan, with fantastic service and wonderful food. They really make you feel welcome! Highly recommended!

Located in Kasuga, 26 km from Takamatsu, Asan Kotonami features a terrace and views of the mountain. The ryokan has a hot spring bath and sauna, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant. Everything! Please try and stay for at least 2 nights.

Our room was on the second floor and our luggage was arranged by the staff to be received and forwarded to our next accommodation seamlessly. Staff was professional, polite and very helpful. The onsen which we were brought to was amazing. The breakfast was also amazing. Even the staff clearing the used plates was mindful about the noise they were making. Which we appreciated and could enjoy the breakfast better. Thank you.

Staying at this hotel for 2 nights was one of the highlights of our trip. Our room was comfortable and very spacious, the meals were exceptional, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the hot spring facility is amazing with fabulous views across the valley. The local scenery is breathtaking. Great value for money!

A 15-minute walk from JR Kotohira Station, Kotohira Kadan offers natural hot spring baths and spacious Japanese-style rooms, some with a private outdoor hot spring bath. Gorgeous hotel, room & grounds, including the dining room, lounge & lobby. Japanese-style room was very comfortable, with very attentive and professional staff.
