For our first visit Japan, this was a great place to stay. Close to the metro, in a fairly quiet neighbourhood. The bathroom was compact, but it had everything we needed. There were lifts to all the floors, rooms had electrical outlet points and we were able to open the windows and at night a blind blocked out the light. A private bath is available, which we did not use. Washing facilities are available and the staff were very helpful in all regards. Rooms were soundproof. I would stay here again!

The best value of hotel in our Japan trip as we used the onsen almost daily after all the walking about in the day. We got a room with a view of the temple and we could see skytree from the women's onsen. The place is clean and cleaned daily by the staff in our 8 night there.

There is a lift so no need to worry about carrying luggage. The room is spacious for 4 people. Everything is available from TV to kitchen cabinet to sofa to 4 comfortable thick beds to washing machine. Location is near to train station and bus stop but oddly enough the place is quiet at night so you can have peaceful sleep. This is a gem!

The ryokan is incredibly cozy and welcoming. The rooms are spotless and have a real 'homey' feel. It’s a beautifully renovated space, and while some parts are still original—showing their age but kept very clean—that vintage character is exactly what gives the place its soul.

The hosts are incredibly accomodating and sweet. I only speak English and they made sure to use a translator to help me understand what I needed to. The included dinners and breakfasts were phenomenal, and the on site mini-onsen was really nice after a day hiking.

The owners were so kind, I got to chat with them a bit about this long-family-owned property, the city, and things to do for the evening. They helped us book a delicious traditional Japanese supper nearby as well which was great! The stay itself is beautiful, with comfy tatami and the surrounding neighbourhood was nice to explore

This is a wonderful ryokan. We loved the traditional room and slept like babies on the super soft futons. The room was small but very well organised and clean. The bathroom was also very small but immaculately clean. Whenever we come back to Tokyo, we will stay here again.

Very spacious rooms with comfortable futons, tatami mats, low Japanese tables, sleeping robes, tea in the room, and free coffee in the hallway. There is a restaurant in the basement offering Japanese (and traditional) breakfast. A realy nice bath with sauna on the rooftop. And a quite terace in the center of Tokyo, really amazing....best of all is the tearoom with a view of a mini Zen garden and additional space for peace and meditation. Everything is simple and discreet. Highly recommended.

The location is very convenient, and the staff are nice and helpful. The room was quite small but well organized so it was good and the futon was comfortable. There is a washing mashing and dryer, as well as a fridge and kettle for the guests. Thank you Ryokan Toukaisou!

Our stay at Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa was a genuine Japanese retreat. The traditional room exuded tranquillity, featuring a comfortable futon bed for a restful sleep. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly, going above and beyond to assist us throughout our stay. We particularly enjoyed the common area, offering free drinks and traditional Japanese games. Overall, the hotel provided an authentic and memorable experience, perfect for those seeking a taste of Japanese hospitality. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant ryokan! From the welcome drink to the lovely rooms, stunning breakfast served in your bedroom, delightful staff and great private open air onsen, everything is designed with your comfort and tranquility in mind. Very well located within walking distance of Sensoji and Asakusa station. I will definitely stay again when I am back in Tokyo!

Comfortable and nice tatami room and public bath! Yukata and bedding provided were comfy. It would also appear they've taken previous feedback about noise into consideration, adding a soundproofing layer to the window and greatly reducing the noise (I'm very sensitive to noise and slept through it just fine). Location is great, well-connected to the popular areas, situated right next to a family mart and beautiful river walk. Friendly staffs, easy check-in and check-out processes, very relaxing.

The ryokan is centrally located in Ueno and convenient for the University of Tokyo. It's a ryokan, so you get a low futon and tatami mats on the floor. They also provide you with a yukata to wear indoors. The owners are lovely, and arranged a late check-in for me without any difficulty. It is excellent value for the price.
