Best gateway if you are leaving nearby munich, really beautiful and nice and definitely not spoiled with influx of tourists.

The Hotel is amazing. It is really comfortable and nice.
The Hotel is amazing. It is really comfortable and nice. We spend our wedding night in October 2019 there and we were really happy and had a great experience. Sadly, when we decided to come back this time with our 1 year daughter we had a very different (bad) experience.
The Hotel is definitely not friendly for kids. After giving it a lot of thought we decided to stay one night at the hotel, mainly because of the amazing pool. Check-In is at 15:00h and Check-out at 12:00. When we got there, it turned out that kids are not allowed in the pool after 14:00h. So we couldn't use the pool the first day and the second day we only got to be in the pool just a couple of hours . - No one told us about the pool regulations although I called and said I was traveling with a kid. I just hope that they put this information more explicitly and accessible at their web page so parents know the implications of traveling with kids.
Amazing Hotel but definitely not for traveling with children.

What a magnificent town!
What a magnificent town! I think it would make a wonderful trip any time of the year. The Wallberg mountains can be seen from Tegernsee and we went up the mountain hoping to toboggan. The track was closed due to not enough snow but we took a cable car up and walked around. You can also hike up any time of the year. (about 2-3 hours apparently) At the top, you can enjoy tea/coffee and cake or lunch and they had vegan options!
It was very cold so we didn't walk around the town as much as we'd have like to and the town itself looked like somewhere we'd like to explore more.
There's a water taxi taking you across the lake to the town on the other side. We also heard there is a famous brewery with a boat tour to the brewery. We'd love to visit again!
This hotel is definitely in my top 2 best hotels I've ever been to. Fantastic room, the most professional but still friendly reception and restaurant staff, the most amazing pool EVER!! And finally a gym that IS actually a proper gym, unlike in 99% of other hotels. I couldn't be any more impressed. Thank you
