Xi'an is the ancient capital of China which lasted for 2 thousand years under the Tsang dynasty. It contains stunning ancient monuments, such as completely intact city wall (you can cycle around as it's only 14 km long) and drum tower (for waking up and going to sleep in ancient times). The Shaanxi museum is the best museum I visited in China (and I have been to almost all the megacities), much better than anything in Beijing including the Summer Palace or the Palace Museum. And then there are the terracotta warriors which is eerie and stunning to connect to ancient China. Xi'an has great restauramts and the people are friendly and hospitable..

Most exciting place. One week is not enough.
Most exciting place. One week is not enough. Will come again. Xi‘an is more than Terracotta warriors. There are many shows worth to see.
However, the visit to Shanxi Historical Museum is overly complicated as the website is in Chinese and not well organized. Even my Chinese guide did not manage to get me a ticket.

We arrived in Xian after first visiting Beijing.
We arrived in Xian after first visiting Beijing. Personally I like Xian better than Beijing, not only the history but also life around is mor vibrant. In Beijing to much control, to much officials etc. We chose to visit the Terra Cotta army as well as Famen Temple and both visits are a day tour. Unfortunately Pit 4 exhibition is moved from the TC army to another museum. Personally I was always impressed by Pit 4, showing the Bronx chariots etc.
There is much more in Xian, one evening we enjoyed a Tang Dynastie show, had a walk in Muslim Street and visited The Great Mosque.

Terracotta army is of course the top thing to visit in Xi'An. Do not miss the bronze carriages. They are incredible and the museum created just for them is exceptional.
Xi'An is one of the best places we visited in China. The whole town is fantastic. A walk on city walls is unforgettable. Xi'An museum has great exhibits, especially in the underground area. There are a lot of great museums in Xi'An and it is worth spending a few days in this beautiful town.

Thousands of years of history in this vibrant town, with amazing food diversity, mind-blowing tour sites, and a fun attitude. There are lots of shopping opportunities as well with plenty of malls to choose from that feature Chinese and international brands. Don't forget to set your phone up with Alipay or WeChat linked to a credit card so you can easily make purchases or order rides with Didi. Not absolutely necessary but makes things MUCH EASIER (this is generally true for anywhere in China)..

Xi'an has a long history and is of great cultural importance...
Xi'an has a long history and is of great cultural importance in China. There are therefore many historic sites to visit (e.g. the Terracotta Warriors, Giant Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower, City Walls). It also has a large Muslim quarter, which is interesting to wander around. The food is good, and the Muslim quarter has some particularly interesting and tasty dishes. The city is easy to get around. Like most Chinese cities, it has a good metro system that is easy to navigate (everything is in Chinese and English), but the city centre inside the old city walls can be easily explored on foot. The city walls are intact, and you can walk all the way around - another way to see the city! The walls are also surrounded by a moat and very pretty gardens. As well as the historic sites, Xi'an is a thriving modern city, so there are good shopping malls and plenty of nightlife, if that's what you want.
We loved everything about this hotel, the design, the super comfortable rooms and beds, the helpful staff, etc… We had booked activities early in the morning so we would have missed breakfast, but the staff in reception made sure we had a picnic bag with delicious food and coffee before we left. Water is free, etc… many many details that made this hotel a place that we only regret not having had more time to enjoy
Staff was helpful - Spring and Jerry who helped us with our check in and out , whom also requested for good reviews on their service. Location of the hotel was also good and nearby shops and major attractions.
The concierge staff also gave us a room upgrade though there was no difference to be told, after we feedbacked on the strong smoke smell in the rooms.
Location is great, super close to all the main attractions and the metro station.
First time in our trip through China where the hotel staff spoke super fluent English and was really helpful.
Breakfast was very nice and complete, with Chinese and Western options.
Would definitely recommend!
We liked everything. The hotel has a sort of Japanese style mixed with Chinese elements. The breakfast was every good and you have plenty of complimentary things. The staff is very kind and helpful:)
