We scheduled our stay in Reykjavik at the end of our trip...3 nights. It was very nice to decompress after driving around the entire island. Fun nightlife vibe, great street to be on. Good shopping. I do suggest either buying the stereotypical Icelandic sweater from a smaller mom and pop shop outside of the city. The Icelandic Wool Association sweaters are very expensive to the almost 24% tax rate. If not buying locally, you can purchase online for much less. Also booked a 'premium' trip to the Blue Lagoon. Really fun! Bring flip flops (or similar) and either a gopro or a bag to put your phone in. You'll want to take pictures and it's certainly cheaper to bring your own.

The temperature is a lot colder than you think it is and the wind can be brutal. I underdressed completely for the trip I took. Only used Booking for an extra night hotel stay. Also everything else is extremely expensive and you don’t expect it. So be prepared. The pictures are scenes around the country not just Reykjavík.

Very walkable city. Loved the "shopping street" area. Really liked the Icelandic hotdog that was recommended. Hop on Hop off bus was fun. Visited a few key sights. We took a few tours (Golden Circle, Southern route), went horseback riding. Loved their fish and chips.

Very modern city, not so many things to do, but nice to walk around. Harpa music center is beautiful, I would like to go there to a concert. Also, we went to blue lagoon, 30min driving from the city, which was a nice experience.

We (a group f six seniors) hired a private tour group for an evening of viewing the Northern Lights, a southern trip to Vik, and the Golden Circle. Each excursion was fabulous in its own right. We were all wonderfully surprised by the small town feel of Reykjavík and its cleanliness.

Lovely, welcoming and helpful staff. Our room was spacious, airy and very comfortable. Large bathroom, great walk in shower, and a nice range of toiletries. Breakfast was simple but still provided a nice choice. The hotel was easy to reach from the airport, plenty of parking space, and whilst not central we had an easy walk into downtown Reykjavik to go out in the evening. All in all a great start to our round trip of Iceland.

Really nice hotel in a good location, handy for the BSI bus terminal and not too far to walk into the city centre. Loads of e-scooters always available outside. Quiet room despite being next to the city airport, the rooms are well sound-proofed. The brunch buffet is amazing (not cheap, but worth the money)
